Slashwaggle Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 This is something I've been thinking about a lot lately. I know exactly how the next 200+ hours of gameplay are going to be like in Warframe. I'm going to buy random blueprints and then farm ODD for affinity. That's it. There is nothing else here for me. I could try and push survival/defence records, but after you've been far a few times, that loses it's shine a bit as well. That aside... Credits I don't need, they come to me naturally while doing other things. Blueprints and parts for weapons might take a few hours to farm, but I don't feel too interested in just farming them for mastery rating, so I get the ones I want and forma them until I'm happy. And when I'm happy, then what? I have nothing to use them for. Trading I can rarely be bothered with outside of void keys. I don't want to get rid of the little gameplay I actually still have left. I have most, if not all the mods I need/want. New mods give me a few hours of reason-filled gameplay here and there, but those don't come around too often either. Quite literally the last thing left are the achievements, which, well... those come naturally as you level stuff up, and don't really include that many things to achieve. Point being, I really want to love this game for at least a couple hundred more hours, but I just don't see how I could. I absolutely adore this game, even with all it's flaws, and have spent cashmoneys on visual items just because giving you people a few pizzas and a round of coffee is the absolute least I can do for all the hours of joy you've given me. Unfortunately the truth is that I come bearing very little answers, ideas or recommendations. The fast paced ranking up and building up your frame made this game very addicting, but also seems to be it's downfall in the endgame. The only thing I could think of is to make rewards more based on how far you get in a survival/defence. Have some of the most wanted items only after the 50 minute/wave mark or something. This would push people to play efficiently, and prepare for the missions. Skill/gear would be more of a requirement than it is now. The only way I see out of this grindmania where half the people can just stay AFK would be to force the players to focus. How that'd translate into Warframe, I can't tell, I'm no programmer nor a designer, I just really wish someone smarter than me can come up with a solution. I love you guys, Slashwaggle P.S. Slashwaggle Posted June 29, 2014 Author Posted June 29, 2014 (Might actually read..) Don't bother, it's all very, VERY boring. Had to get it out of my system. Also I have way too much free time, so...
HitPointPredator Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 I guess the first 10-50 hours for a player are fairly unique. Lots of variety, new factions and missions and environments get introduced.. but when you are past that its just a mad dash for collecting enough resources and crafting weapons and gear.

That's pretty spot on, yeah. I guess it depends entirely on the player whether that's a good thing or not. The difference in gameplay is pretty massive though. The amount of excitement you had when you crafted your first weapon, then your second, maybe an entirely new frame, got into your first void mission, explored for agility runs and the like... And now you just kinda casually click one of the fourteen weapons you own, delete it and replace it with one of the twenty weapons you have pre-built in your forge, waiting for free slots.
Lawrenciumm Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 I've been wanting items that are locked to a specific timer/wave in this game foir awhile now. Wave 100 should have an exclusive mod/item to it that drops no where else, just on wave 100. Pretty fun idea, more incentive to actually experience that content.
Tyre Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 Ive been having the same internal conversation with myself. I view these collections of new frames and weapons and primes more as the means than the ends. I think Warframe is still in the mechanics stage of development. I believe once we have lore, once we have a reason to love or hate these faction and have context for these invasion campaigns, then the community will feel there is an "endgame" out there. I think we need to learn and explore this universe we will truly develop a connection and we'll feel like we're on the other side of the fourth wall.
