Suggestion For Future Obsidian Items.

Yes.. .seriously...

 

Anyways, Just wanted to send out a few ideas on how DE could make any future Obsidian items/skins better than just the very disappointing recolored syandana we got.  I know [DE]Drew has already passed along the information that most of the PS4 players had been disappointed, and I have all the confidence in DE that hey will make Obsidian a very very interesting skin!  

 

Firstly; What about a mesh-swap kind of thing, like the Proto-Armor on Excalibur?  Say the Obsidian skin would make whatever it was applied to very sleek, shiny, and very, very, VERY jagged and sharp, it is, after all, volcanic glass, and very jagged, sleek, shiny bits of black glass is kinda what I get in my head when I think of obsidian, well, raw obsidian anyways. :P

 

Secondly. If that kinda thing is too much just for us PS4 players, why not something similar to Phased skins?  This would keep the 'recolored' bit in, but hopefully it would be very spectacular resign, just in those colors, and the skin would have animated, maybe pulsating or 'flowing' glowing blue lines.

 

Thirdly; if NONE of that is possible... if none of that could be done for the obsidian...  Can we just have the blue lines glow?  Please?

 

 

Anyone else got ideas for how Obsidian could be better?  And I don't really expect DE to pay much attention, would be nice if at least one of them acknowledge that they are working on ideas for better Obsidian designs :P

ANY animation or glow would make Obsidian skins something worthwhile. For now, it's just a different color.

I'd be okay if the Obsidian is just a black version of the Rubedo Rhino skin.

I think being able to change the colors of the items is important.

 

If DE and/or Sony is determined to go down this Obsidian route and make it a thing, we'll end up an army of black-and-blue clad Tenno running missions.  It'll be very dark, very monotonous.

 

We play on the PS4 - that doesn't mean we want to look like PS4s.  We definitely want to support and enjoy PS4 exclusives, but more than that we want to be able to decorate our own badasses - at least to some extent.
