Kaoru_Konneko
So being an honest patron of the game since the open beta release I spend my own money on platnium and have a frank disgust in it being the only thing people ever seemingly want to trade. Noting that 75 platnium cost $5 and people want just about that amount for almost anything; what's the point of it? I pay $5 just so some person can give me one item? I don't understand why I couldn't just 1 for 1 an item or mod. Hardly anyone does this. Now a side track in slight: http://gyazo.com/af52f805900c74ebbce886f663f7b754 http://gyazo.com/75d6df2a0fba5f2dbff5b83773eaf3ee This insentive from our good friend KickBot was assuming I was begging and a rather rude response. I had come to Council as I sometimes do because people there are usually a little nicer to trade with and like to help one another out without expecting over compensation for everything and many of them tend to agree on my problems with plat only trades being pre-dominant in Trade Tab. I really wish there could be a trade regulation system especially when one mod goes as high as 170-200 platnium or thousands more when people trade Primed Chamber a mod mentioned not dis-appearing for good but not resurfacing either. -FrostByte-
i don't see where kickbot was talking to you i see some mods being reasonable being 100~200 and even the rare mods for 1k~2k plat. try to get a max narrow-minded or seration or any other mod that has 10 pips to max rank. if you are not willing to dish out those 100+ plats then buy the stock mod for 1~5 plat then rank it up yourself. and if you are not willing to buy the mod for plat, try playing the game and grind for that mod. AdunSaveMe
Remove plat trading? So the people who can't buy plat for whatever reason would be completely locked out of getting anything cosmetic, save for the occasional helmet alert? No thanks. if you can't handle paying plat for a mod or part, go grind it yourself. Nobody's stopping you.
rayzwingz
I find the system to work great no need to change players make the economy not anyone else and btw you are not forced to pay plat to buy a mod go farm it yourself and see how hard it is there is a reason why people want 200 plat for a mod they spent days to grind(maybe not days but I did xini like 4 times every day since the mod appeared to make a comparison) btw raptor is 30plat atm
BrotherIcarus
It"s just the economy of the game. It happens IRL high demand mean high prices. Personally I think a "market" would be much better than the current system. Basically you post on the market how much you want for x and if someone like the price they just buy it strait up of you, this could run along side the current bartering system. Hixlysss
OP does have a point. I'm sorry but when the ONLY thing people will trade for in trading chat is platinum it is kind of a problem. "I'll trade you a max rank serration for your natural talent." and then the person goes "Nah, just give me 5 plat." and I'm just like "Wat. <_>?" Seriously. I hope when the hubs come in, we have a player market place. Players put up what they want to sell, for how much or what, and then release for purchase. Like the steam community market. Sasquatchias
While I disagree with removing Plat trading, I do agree that there is a bit of an issue where everyone wants Plat only instead of others mods/Prime stuff. My suggestion would be to split the Trading tab and make two new ones, one being focused on Plat trading and the other being focused on Mod/Prime parts. While the second tab probably won't be used all that often, I feel it is better to do that than to limit what can be traded for Plat and what can't. AM-Bunny
Where are these numbers coming from? Aside from possibly the initial release of something, such as malicious raptor, there is no mod that goes for 100 plat unranked. Yes primed chamber goes for a lot, but without plat trading there is nothing that could even come close to it in value. This would mean that primed chamber would never get traded and all these people that want it wouldn't even have a chance. Same with event mods, to a lesser degree. That being said, I am against plat trading because it is the biggest (and possible only, really) move this game has made towards pay2win.

Seriously, when was the last time you saw someone trading something half decent, for something else half decent? A mod for a mod? Never. Everyone wants plat, EVERYONE. The problem being RNG is in such a hole I can farm things rampant and not get them. So I go to trade. Thiiiiiis~ I find the system to work great no need to change players make the economy not anyone else and btw you are not forced to pay plat to buy a mod go farm it yourself and see how hard it is there is a reason why people want 200 plat for a mod they spent days to grind(maybe not days but I did xini like 4 times every day since the mod appeared to make a comparison) btw raptor is 30plat atm The issue with "Going and grinding it for yourself" is what you said. It can take DAYS. I'm sorry, but that is just wrong. I spent weeks farming Vayhek, 15 times, no vay hek systems. Eventually I gave up and just bought him because it was too much of an annoyance. There are two issues here. First, RNG, RNG makes everything a pain in the rear for some people to get, if not impossible. BUddy of mine has been in since CB, started off with Loki and wanted to get excalibur, except he has farmed for excalibur since the release on steam, and still has not gotten excalibur systems. Roughly five times a day, for three days, every week, and alternating days as well. This has been going on since it was released on freaking steam, This is an issue, this is a problem. The second issue is because of the first. Because SOME people can get this a heck of a lot easier than others because the RNG gods have blessed them, and they KNOW other people are so tired of the RNG they will toss anything at them to get what the need, they ask for plat and only plat. And sure, some of them grind very hard and earn it and an extra one to sell so they can make money, that I can understand. But everything doesn't have to be traded for plat. vaugahn
It's trading for what you need. In most cases, people need plat more than they need mods or parts. I rarely trade for plat, and when I do it's only if I want to buy a cosmetic or a potato. Plat trading works just fine in my opinion, but asking for something like malicious raptor this close to its release will of course attract a lot of plat-hungry folks. Using the excuse it is trade because it is plat for an item is rather faulty because it's the only item they ever trade for; I may not have spoken correct on "Removing Plat Trade" But still it's become only about plat trade and nobidy wants anything else anymore. It is not fair to use the excuse they grinded for it either. Because everything I have to trade with was grinded just as hard if not harder for. Plat trading works just fine in my opinion, but asking for something like malicious raptor this close to its release will of course attract a lot of plat-hungry folks. Except it's not plat trading, trading chat isn't TRADING. it's a Player run Platinum Market. Don't call it trading, if people are literally just selling stuff for plat. Trading is offering one resource for another, offering a key for a different kind of key or a mod, ect. The current trading chat is simply put, a player run platinum market place for items not on the in game market place. So if you ask me, we need two seperate channels. One for Plat Market, one for ACTUAL trading. That is all we really need to be honest. Unfortunately it's not just this and even items that aren't new warrant the same attentions still; people look to the desperate and expect only payment not trade. This is the sad truth, but instead of "removing plat trade" just make a new tab. Player Market or something, and leave the trading market empty of anyone trying to sell stuff for plat. It's not trading anymore, it just selling for plat, no one is trading.

I see quite a lot of people looking for trades, and I never had any problem with being turned down for a lack of plat. In my experience, the only people who only want plat are the ones who post the giant walls of text offering things for sale, I usually just avoid them entirely anyways. Those people, and everyone else who goes "WTS X, Y, Z" instead of "WTT X, Y, Z" should be moved to some form of market, instead of trading. All that gets spammed in the trading place is "WTS, WTB" instead of "WTT" there is hardly ever any trading going on. Sure, it pops up every once in a while, and YOU may have luck of encountering the good people, all I ever run into it seems are the "sellers" not the "traders"
AdunSaveMe
You lot act like every single person asks for plat. At least a third of the people I see are willing to trade. On a good day, it's a solid half. That being said, I am against plat trading because it is the biggest (and possible only, really) move this game has made towards pay2win. Trading between players is not pay to win, real money currency or not. Edit: At least, I don't think it is. But what do I know? Tell me what makes it pay to win. (genuine interest here) I see quite a lot of people looking for trades, and I never had any problem with being turned down for a lack of plat. In my experience, the only people who only want plat are the ones who post the giant walls of text offering things for sale, I usually just avoid them entirely anyways. It's not always just those guys though. I personally try to sell things one at a time, so I can accumulate enough plat to get things like warframe slots. The issue with "Going and grinding it for yourself" is what you said. It can take DAYS. I'm sorry, but that is just wrong. I spent weeks farming Vayhek, 15 times, no vay hek systems. Almost seems like you're saying the luck of a couple of people is the reason plat trading should be removed. I got all the hydroid parts in around ten runs. Excalibur parts in five. Only did about eight 40 minute runs of T4 survival and I never got the Loki prime helmet. It varies, and shouldn't be used as a basis for an argument like this. It's shaky ground at best. When you buy things from players using plat, you are buying that convenience. You are bypassing the need to grind it for yourself, removing the RNG factor, saving yourself either a few runs or a few dozen runs. You are paying them for something that they took the time to grind for, just so you don't have to grind for it. Platinum is the common price because that's its value, and it's because plat is something people deem worth it, or something people NEED, because they can't get it any other way. Sometimes they trade the things they've earned for other things, such as blueprints, so they don't have to grind to get it themselves. I was gonna summarize the point here but I'm tired. I say keep plat trading. maybe separate them into two tabs, trading and selling, as previously suggested. But removing platinum trading between players would be a terrible move. I shouldn't need to repeat why. Edited June 30, 2014 by AdunSaveMe

Mine have been 3 days straight or more without people keeping an honest pricing or trade amount on top of a grind run of a week or more. Ever wonder why the trade window allows only up to 3 items?
