Sooo... Shock Eximus.

What the balls do you do against these things?

They have a shock aura which can drain all of your energy and give you that weird screen effect.

Normally this wouldn't be much of a problem... if you could actually avoid it.

Ancient Disruptors punish you for not getting out of their way or whatever.

Venomous Ancients punish you for not focusing them down.

These things punish you just for being nearby. Apparently they don't need to hit you or shoot you, which I thought they did at first. Even when you can't see them, they can't see you, they're behind walls, through doors... Good luck running away from them too, when they have a huge radius and you can't see which direction they're in.

Have fun finding it so you can keep your energy, you've got three seconds.

So, why? Where's the fun? And don't gimme that "it's a challenge omg you're a noob want everything easy omg" crap.

Cos this is silly. A challenge gives you a chance to beat something and more or less rewards you when you beat it, with loot or exp or a fuzzy feeling.

The only fuzzy feeling you get from this thing is the annoyance from having your energy randomly annihilated.

Yeah, I feel that disruption altogether needs to be changed, because losing every bit of energy mid-fight is not difficult, it's punishing. What makes it worse is that disruption can occur very often due to the amount of enemies with the disruption ability that spawn during missions.

Maybe if disruption just took away half of one's energy per proc, or prevented the use of abilities for a time it would be much better. But as it stands, everyone hates it.

Yeah, at the very least those eximus units should have a smaller, visible field that follows them around. It could look and work something like the frost eximus snow globe, but instead of blocking bullets, it disruptor-izes anyone who enters it (kinda like the mag bubbles from breeding grounds).

Lessons No.1 against Infested that everyone knows who played WF for a while: Don´t stop walking and be fast

That´s the whole secret. If u have so much trouble against them u maybe play just on the wrong lvl for your equipment or you just to bad... sry but thats my opinion (nothing personal)

......Did you even read the post? It's not about Ancients. Ancients are petty. I don't give a S#&$ about Ancients.

You see a purple aura by your feet? Run away and aim. That doesn't work? Take out your melee weapon and BLOCK while you are disrupted.

I already mentioned, where do you go when you don't know what direction it's in, when it's behind walls and doors and on higher levels?

Plus, if you've got a cold aura and some other aura on you already, it's not quite easy to see.

So you have to find and kill the other eximi. And you have a few seconds at best.

Well, I usually have a good bit more then a few seconds.  But I use enemy radar, so I get a heads up.

Auras ARE a telegraphed attack. People who choose not to react are lazy. If you get caught dust yourself off and try again.

You've got a couple of seconds to react to an aura that can be put on you by enemies behind walls and doors and on higher levels and behind an army of other enemies that can't be broken through in that time.

Okay.

At least the other auras let you do something about it. Those ones aren't a problem.

I'm not sure about that aura, do eximus units show up as larger or different markers? I've only seen the aura a couple of times.

As for the time it takes, I've had the energy stolen within five seconds on a lot of occasions.

I think sometimes there's a delay in the effect showing up, probably host lag.

I've lost count of how many times Shock Eximus have drained me simply because I could not find them. The fact that they can affect you through walls is a joke.

Terrible enemy design. No challenge, and no skill involved. Just artificial difficulty and frustrating.

So you mean an enemy might just be effective? Crap what are you going to do? I say block and regroup...I guess I'm kind of a survivor like that... what do you suggest? Oh yea...OP... well my friend..Block and move. Shoot if you were smart enough to bring a gun. They are far from unbeatable. Get creative.

U talk about losing energie every few seconds....

If u keep walking the whole time and if u are fast (fast enough to escape or kill them) u will have no problems. If u cant find them fast enough check your equip.

Examples

Loki = make you immun against auras while u invisible

Nyx (on range build) + Castanas = fast absorb attack with more range than eximus auras

Hydroid = become water and your save against energie absorb

Volt = fast enough to get out of range in under 3sec

and so on

*if u play on a really high lvl its normal that u lose your energie from time to time thats the reason why u can craft energie restores

They are definitely trying to fill an enemy encounter niche with the Shock Eximus (and mutalist), but they just aren't hitting a sweet spot with it. I'm a little surprised at how bad their enemy design is (attacks and behavior) when compared to how great their art has been.

No, neither the mod nor the aura have special eximus markings.

But they're really not necessary.  Knowing that there's a threat behind a door or around a corner is a huge advantage, and it's always reasonable to take care when you know something is there, but not what.

I wanna tell you to grow a pair but that is rude and unnecessary so I won't. I'd rather encourage you to rethink your opinion and practice against them while assuring you that you will get better with practice.

I don't think you're paying attention.

You cannot always see them, find them or get to them.

And you seem to think losing all your energy for no reason is a challenge or isn't a problem. Rightio.

Sure it's fine if you only ever use guns.
