A Thank You To De For All The Excellent Hard Work!

Recently I've seen quite a few threads bagging on D.E for not fixing some of the bugs, issues, drop dilution and moving on to new mechanics instead. Personally I feel that It is more important to work on the new player experience and develop a new, common player's form of lore support in the form of missions and progression. I also think it's important to keep older players continuing on with the game. (I.E Kubrows).

Tell me your thoughts, and if you have any thoughts or ideas that D.E should work on or if you feel they're on the right track.

Everyone applauds DE for the work they do. It's just a bit on the brutish side in-forums for various reasons.

This usually happens especially near Update time :P

Yeah, I've noticed that ever since I joined the community and started playing during U7 and it kind of aggravates me that people can't appreciate how proactive these awesome devs are.

I thank them with my money when i feel they do something right. Not pandering on the forums.

I don't always pander, but when I do, it's right before a nice big update. (And since I bought the biggest, most recent prime access, I concur.)dos-equis-most-interesting-guy-in-the-wo

It aggravates me that the devs can't appreciate how proactive the community is, constantly bringing up suggestions and ways to bring improvements for the core things

By the way, "better new player experience" isn't going to be so great when a new player realizes that the game is less polished than the training phase.

I feel with the new introduction of UI 2.0 it's gonna cut down on initial screen clutter a lot, and because of this, it's gonna be easier and simpler of new players to join the game, aswell as have a slower, more elaborated introduction to the game via questing that's being added. All in the new update...

But I feel that they listen to us a decent amount, but they can't take every cool fan idea and concept that scrolls across the forums, heck, this new update is adding plenty of new, fan designed enemies for us to fight.

Fan ideas? Fan designed enemies? Those are not what people mean when they say 'core gameplay elements.'

Those are completely different things.

You don't seem to get this: a fantastic new player experience is only going to disappoint new players when they come to realize what a crazy grindfest farming simulator this game is. And how so many weapons are useless, how market prices are hilariously overpriced, etc.

No offense, but I hate all the senseless suck-ups i see on the forum. DE are ok, they aren't all bad and they do some ok things, but they also make some pretty big mistakes for pretty stupid reasons, a lot of them being a buildup of recurring problems that they don't step in to fix.

Instead of reading pages of senseless rage and pages of mindless sucking up that all lead to nothing productive, i'd rather see pages of people calmly discussing how things could be improved, so that any mistakes DE make can get fixed faster.

Not to sound overly defensive, or aggressive for that matter, but sucking up generally implies that you're trying to gain something from it. And this thread was meant to help people organize a collective group of complaints that they have towards what D.E should fix. rather than adding stuff, or to show that they feel that the game is going on the right track. Plus D.E is a outright awesome developer compared to something like Blizzard in terms of communication with community.

No, they shouldn't take every fan idea that happens along. They also shouldn't shoot down brilliant solutions to major issues just because "but this is the way we're doing it". That's NOT the sign of a proactive, community-involved developer, and it's not just a once-off case, which drives people to rage about it all.

Alright, this is progress, now, what do you feel are some major problems and what are some ways that have been seen around the forums and concocted by yourself to fix these problems?

And this thread was meant to help people organize a collective group of complaints that they have towards what D.E should fix.

By nature of the title, you have created a biased thread that will either draw in "DE fanboys" or, for lack of a more appropriate word, suck-ups, or draw in people aggressively opposed to your views.

If you want to create a thread to discuss and organize complaints, label your thread "What do you think DE could do to improve Warframe?" so that readers who are interested in actually discussing things are drawn to this thread

EDIT TO PREVENT DOUBLE-POST LAG

One example I have is an unstick button. Everyone knows how annoying it is to NOT have an unstick button (a feature to forcibly-teleport you to a pre-set location) because of all the times we've fallen through holes in the world, been stuck in walls, sealed inside Derelict vaults, trapped in infinite-falling loops in blackout zones, stuck in an animation, sucked into opening doors etc. These problems normally make us lose something. Rare mods, xp, rare resources, expendable items used in the mission, even just warframe revives from dying in the infinite fall glitch.

Heaps of people have proposed that DE make an unstick button, like so many games have, particularly alpha and beta games. DE respond with "but then people wouldn't post bug reports anymore"

In many of these suggestion threads, that issue is already completely addressed, such as in two of my own threads, where I suggested having automated reports sent as soon as you use the unstick button, that provide more accurate and useful information, plus the addition of prompting for user feedback. Not only would you get bug reports from EVERY use of the unstick button, but devs could easily filter them by similar locations to determine high-priority areas and fix them faster, ALL without ruining the game experience for the player.

So, instead of addressing the well thought-out solution that benefits DE AND the players, makes people feel more secure about spending money on the game (since they'd know for SURE that normal bugs won't rob them of their hard-earned stuff), prevents player loss from those of us who rage-quit and never return, instead of doing what benefits everyone ever, they skim these threads and say "nah, it doesn't work" without addressing anything properly.

That is not proactive, community-involved development. That's ignorance.

Why did you come if this is how you feel on the title.

On another note, that's the type of congregation of fixes and complaints that I'd like to see compiled and dealt with by D.E.

No, they are not in the right track. They should fix important things first, like controls, animations, melee, balance between useless and overpowered weapons/frames/enemies, dumb AI, UI bugs that make the game unplayable, etc. Fix all that first, then you can make the UI as cute as you want.

Yeah, they're completely getting rid of the U.I somewhat and instead adding a ship that you're on in between missions that host your market, foundry, loadouts, etc.

I think you're contradicting yourself here.

We do need to say thank you, they are one of the best developers as they constantly update their game, it's really amazing
