Detheroc Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 (edited) With the introduction of the Dragon Nikana, that made a high-end weapon out of a mediocre weapon, i thought we could apply this to other tenno weapons aswell. Weapons that have been anticipated for a very long time (Crossbow and Claws) disappointed almost every veteran that looked forward to it. Of course, i dont say that DE should only release top-tier weapons, this is where the Dragon variant comes in. This would simply take the weapon and make it useable at later levels, like it did with the Nikana, at the cost of a higher mastery rank of course.Thoughts? Edited July 2, 2014 by Detheroc
Noxonion Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 Dragon Sybaris. Dragon Akbolto (OP) Dragon Akstilletto
-CM-Tiffany Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 Dragon Venka? Hell yeah. Was thinking of the exact concept this morning.
Valfunde Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 I think it is indeed possible for the very anticipated / appreciated weapons. The Nikana recieved the dragon version for a simple reason : everyone wanted a katana. However an accessible but weak one would have disappointed the high level players and a high rank blocked powerful katana would have frustrated the lower level players. That's why, I guess, the dragon version exists. Now, let's wait and see. But yes the crossbow was quite disappointing, maybe a completely new one would be a good idea

I dont say release Dragon variant of EVERY tenno weapon there is and will be, but just like you said.
NyghttheClassy Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 I admit, either a buff to or a buffed version of the Venkas would be appreciated. Their speed & damage just don't hold up, and the only place I can make them work is infested, whilst using a crit/berserk build.
Valfunde Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 Don't worry, DE won't make a whole stance just for a single weapon. Expect a new claw weapon by 14.1-2-3
Inquisitioner Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 Dragon, Prime, Wraith, Vandal... How lazy can one get in the design department?
Detheroc Posted July 2, 2014 Author Posted July 2, 2014 Dragon, Prime, Wraith, Vandal... How lazy can one get in the design department? You tell me you wouldnt like your favorite weapon which animations/functionality/playstyle you really like to receive an upgrade? You would rather get a whole new weapon?
Detheroc Posted July 2, 2014 Author Posted July 2, 2014 Don't worry, DE won't make a whole stance just for a single weapon. Expect a new claw weapon by 14.1-2-3 *cough* Nikana *cough* But alrighty, hope dies last.
Valfunde Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 *cough* Nikana *cough* But alrighty, hope dies last. Well even if it is poor, Dragon nikana is technically another weapon. And don't worry, I wouldn't be surprised if nikana prime comes some day
(PSN)Abyss_666 Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 the idea is really good and I support this however the list of possible dragon weapons should be limited to weapons that fit this theme. It would seem dragon weapons would be ancient asian themed weapons so the list would include these IMO: Venka Hikou/kunai Attica just some ideas that really need buffed weapons
Rashja Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 I think Dragon would be a cool weapon variant specifically for melee weapons. Seeing as how the symbol of the dragon, and even the title is used so heavily associated with kung fu / martial arts. Dragon Venka ~ Dragon Bo ~ Dragon Zorens
