Upgraded To Windows 8, Now Keep Getting "watchdog_Clock_Timeout"

Question

Posted

So, I upgraded to windows 8 *cries* because I was fed up with my windows 7 activation stuff (it was OEM, then went unactivated on me once I brought the processor, HDD, and RAM from my dell to a custom PC)

but my problem is that now warframe freezes. About 3 times this has happened since i've upgraded last night.

I've updated my Nvidia driver.

I've updated Steam

I re-downloaded warframe

what now?

If the above statement were true then it has died several times before every - single - hotfix or update- then the same ones saying it died are the first ones to try to get a *first* under the latest patch notes. These forums could be on an episode of Rob Dyrdek's ridiculousness today. Smh.

I believe that they are referring to the fact that a few Chinese companies, notorious for buying games, draining players of their money and then leaving the company to die, is talking about buying out DE.

OK time to give some constructive feedback on this issue!

I've also had a problem with the "watchdog_clock_timeout" crashing my system when playing Warframe in Windows 8 and I've seemed to resolved it!

I run Warframe in DX11 mode with Nvidia Physx enabled.

Go to your Warframe directory e.g. "C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Warframe" and find the file "Warframe.x64.exe" right click on this and go to "properties" then under compatibility tab use enable compatibility mode tick box and use "run this program in compatibility mode for" Windows 8. (you could also try Windows 7).

This seems to have eliminated the crashes for me and made Warframe more stable. Normally the error would appear in cluttered scenes like high waves 30+ on "Orokin Derelict Defence".

If you run your Graphics card overclocked or your CPU overclocked I'd also try using them at the factory speed settings as this "watchdog_clock_timeout" has occured in a few other games for me that are sensitive to an overclocked system CPU.

Hope this helps

Look at GD, and you'd get why more people are saying it.

The only thing that is dead is your brain. If you had one in the first place, headless drama chickens usually don't.
