after going over it again, it seems either party can choose to back out of the deal

Perfect Online Holding Limited (“Perfect Online”) (the Company and
Perfect Online collectively the “Purchasers” and each of them a “Purchaser”) and the shareholders (the
“Vendors”) of Digital Extremes Ltd. (“Digital Extremes”) entered into a non-binding term sheet (the
“Term Sheet”), pursuant to which the Purchasers intend to purchase, and Vendors intend to sell, all the
outstanding shares of Digital Extremes (“Proposed Investment”), subject to due diligence and execution
of definitive agreements between the parties.

Executing a definitive agreement means that they'll put it into legal terms and both parties will sign a legally binding agreement.  Both parties entering into a term sheet means they've already negotiated the terms of the sale.  They can both withdraw right now but considering the language used it's more likely that they're just lining their ducks in a row and making sure everything is legit before they go through with things.

Oh well buying the current Prime Access isn't the problem... You can still get that...

The next one after Loki Prime Access will be the problem if PW gets a foot into the door. That's when sh*t is going to hit the fan and no umbrellas to take cover. xD

i like f2p games because i can try them out and then decide if im willing to go all in and buy stuff

but then when you see perfect world attached to it, all the money ill spend just becomes worthless in a multiplayer game if i cant play with others using this gear, especially if the game is going to get butchered by perfect world

the only game ive seen that survived PW was dota 2 which remained unchanged after PW so there is still a small amount of hope

I just wanna know what happens... if I'm uninstalling or not. Legal corporate talk does nothing but piss me off. And sitting around and waiting, drowned in the endless U14 bug ocean, isn't all that amazing either.

We will soon know exactly what is going to happen to Warframe concerning this whole PW and DE "business." Well, gentlemen, if things go terribly wrong, well, it was nice knowing you all.

At least SWTOR and World of Tanks are still around. Eh, might as well go and play the whole Myst series.

This is still a thing..?

-eats fries-

Yup; and the answer is in a few days now...

And if D.E. is planning to announce it during the gamescom : they should come with level 50+ shield lancers as a security in the worst case. Or expect a mass exodus of people, live.

Or standing ovations & fangirls trying to kiss Steve (and "All hail the Lotus" screams for half an hour)...

Okay so just to link everyone the document again:

http://www.sumpofood.com/UploadFile/201463016302032745.pdf

That is the original information about the buyout.

By my reckoning that information will expire on Sunday 10th of August. However that does not mean that PWE will not buy DE beyond this date but that DE will be able to entertain other investors offers after this date.

We might not get a yay or nay till next Friday with Tennolive 2014 or maybe even later.

An interesting update is that Perfect world entertainment held a press conference on 2014/07/30 where they explained stuff about what they are doing and some stuff about the future. No mention of Digital Extremes from this source so maybe we are in the clear and just have to wait for the legal stuff to expire before DE can give us an official answer.

PWE press conference source:

I personally believe that if DE where to announce a PWE buyout at Tenno live 2014 it would be tantamount to player relation suicide. They would probably just get boos and a mass exodus of people. Announcing a buyout before the event will also only generate negative feelings at the event.

It just hit me, I had searched the Gamescon website for info on DE/Warframe and found none a while ago and they are still not listed, yet PW are listed.  So why go to Gamescon if you do not have a stand as a company if you are going to be doing a QA session.

Next Friday is going to be interesting

Interesting find in the conspiracy mess that this is. We'll just have to wait and see what the 'big reveal' next Friday really is.

When they went to E3 they were in the Nvidia booth. Is there an Nvidia booth? DE is not big enough to carry a whole booth, apparently.

DE has one game right now. Just one. To be able to have a booth you have to have multiple games or be planning/making multiple games. They'll be folded into something.

I have not logged in since this information became public. My last posts were in the 80's. And we're approaching D-day as it were. I've missed warframe. But i have not missed not being a hypocrite.

Respect. People that actually stick behind what they preach are a rarity.

In my case... while its true I will be gone as soon as PWE creeps in I did play for a bit after hearing about this. Granted I probably haven't logged in for a week or two by now.

Well... as people are saying we will know soon enough how this will end. In case DE doesn't say anything even after that arbitrary date... it will be more of a silent "we got bought and don't even have a right to talk now" statement, so works either way.

Personally I cannot find anything about DE event on the Friday either so it does not mean much.

http://www.gamescom-cologne.com/en/gamescom/home/index.php

At Eurogamer 2013 in London DE were stuck in the 18+ area of the Sony camp area. You had to queue twice to reach them and even then could only play one game in the over 18 area and most people wanted to play Killzone. Warframe was also not listed as one of the games at the convention on any website or documentation.

Let the conspiracies continue!

I was slowly coming back to this game but now the PWE thing has just destroyed everything and i dont want to waste my time on a great game thats going to turn to poo in an update.

Just wait, it's a matter of days now. We'll do the same as you if it occurs, but we'll still play our game until it possibly becomes a sad reality.

This is the proper course of action. By not supporting/playing now, it's very possible it could contribute to a PWE buyout. We need to convince DE they don't need PWE's grubby little hands in their business.
