Did Last Night's Hotfix Include Any Unmentioned Performance Fixes?

My FPS has skyrocketed from a usual 70 FPS to 150 FPS. Keep in mind the 70 FPS was from the lobby menu, and it was about 20 FPS lower in game.

I'm still hitching, and it drops down to around 60 FPS, but holy cow, look at this.

This might not be a big deal for some of you with high-end machines, but for a computer that is lackluster and not really designed for gaming, with a lame integrated graphics card, this is a huge deal.

Again, I'm still hitching. I don't know why, but I expect it might just be the game. I don't experience the problem with any other games I play. Hopefully that gets resolved soon, because that hurts the game more for me than just having a low FPS...

EDIT: Look at this lovely framerate from a screenshot in a mission!

No update notes for anything in the history of gaming has had everything changed listed. That's just how it is. Good to see yet more progress on this front.

A DE staff member made a thread to report "hitches", those points of low fps, etcetera to list where you experience them, and the specifics in hopes of fixing them. Thread name was "Hunting for hitches". Listing where you find them there or in a thread would go a good way for getting them fixed.

well the starchart FPS doesnt really mean anything, as nothing is really happening. so its usually pretty dang high without vysnc on.

AHA, but look at this! (Also, like I said, it was A LOT lower than it had been previously, at a whopping and probably unimpressive 70 FPS.)

I made a post there.

I experience hitching everywhere in the game, from the lobby to actually playing a mission, to even the Dojo. The Infested tilesets have it worse than others, and the Orokin Void is pretty bad, too, but yeah.

You sure that's not why you suddenly have a better framerate?

I've had it enabled for a while now, before this sudden increase in frame rate, so I doubt that's why. I'm just saying it might be a contributing factor, but I think it's highly unlikely that it's 100% the reason why.

Something is definitely different. I don't know who's end it's on, but something is different.

I mean, look at this.

More than 25 fps on Jupiter is weird enough, but 30? With high settings?

AND with DOF on? I never get to put DOF on without a framerate drop, so you know something's up.

It was a bit stuttery, but aside from that, it was great.

Why the hell do screenshots always stretch when I post them

An average of 70 FPS? Luxury. I'm running on 2gb of ram with an inbuilt graphics card on a 6-year old desktop.

If I leave my browser running in the background as I play warframe (to browse wiki or whatever) and then make the mistake of trying to use it without letting it catch up it crashes the browser and explorer(hoping this is the correct name for the background thing that controls the start menu display and start screen etc.). The joys of being a pleb and not buying a decent computer!

A luxury indeed. I see a lot of people complaining about only having like 80 fps or something.

I'm just sitting here like dude, try it on my HP laptop

I noticed something, too

I usually have less than 100 fps in the void but now it got even higher. the lowest i could notice was at around 105fps.

it runs better on my laptop, too. from around 40-60 up to 80fps.

No idea what they did but i appreciate it.

Why the hell don't your screenshots get squished up

What's the difference between 60 and 80 anyway? I'd kill just to get a smooth 30.

No idea what you mean with "Squished up" i just uploaded the screenshot to a hoster and posted it here with the img bb-codes

and there is no noticeable difference since i only have 60hz but it gives me a bit larger buffer for drops so the chance to get lower than 60 is smaller.

Definitely an improvement, whatever they did. Like I said, I'm still hitching, but even those are shorter and not as hard-hitting as they used to be.

Also, I upload my screenshots to Imgur, and then I use the spoiler tags, and then I use the img tags. Do you paste the image itself, or do you paste the image URL? I find that if I paste the actual image, that happens.

Yeah, they definitely did something. I hope this isn't short lived.

I'd still like to see hitching fixed. I'm not sure what could possibly cause it, but like I said, those are shorter than before. Still somewhat noticeable, but yeah. Kudos to them for fixing a long-time performance issue that I've had since U11.

I did it :3

But yeah, look at this. This is ridiculous.

Normally I'd be at around 10 or 15 fps here.

Not sure what frame time is.

Frame time is the amount of time between frames, I believe. The lower that number, the faster your frames.

Congrats on figuring out how to unsquish your photos. :)

Just out of interest, but does your FPS increase when you disable those other effects like Bloom and DoF?
