Zealot ( Warframe Concept)

so i was watching "prime time" many many moons ago, watching the chat explode with demands for a Dragon warframe. And while i believe a cross between Zepher and Ember would be awesome ( because lets face it, that's what a dragon warframe would be) i don't think we could expect one any time soon. then i had a thought; " what about a dragoon warfame? now when i say Dragoon i don't mean "a member of any of several cavalry regiments in the British army", no, i mean  a knight that can jump heights, then plummets to the ground landing on his enemies (look up Final Fantasy Tactics dragoon for an example of what what I'm thinking of). like a cross between Zepher and Rhino. Here's what i was thinking his abilities would be. 

 

Leap/Plummet:

Zealot leaps into the air, escaping ground combat. if the ability is used while he is airborne, he plummets to the ground, knocking down all enemies inside the resulting shock wave.

 

Sacrifice:

Zealot gives up a portion or his shields to restore his allies shields. 

 

Spear Throw/Spiked earth

Zealot summons a spear and throws it. this can pin an enemy to a wall or pierce multiple enemies. 

when used after Leap, Zealot throws the spear at the ground, causing spikes to erupt from the earth, impaling anyone within range ( smaller radius than plummet to compensate for the increase in damage).

 

Death from above

Zealot Summons a spear and leaps into the air, landing on and enemy, then repeating the process on any enemy in range

 

Sadly I have no artistic talent so speak of so i cannot provide pictures, but if anyone could come up with and awesome design i would love to see it.

Annoying and not helpful. A Mod will move it when he gets here announcing it does not matter.

 

Anyway now to my response.

 

The concept of leaping into the air is already mostly being used by zephyr.

The ultimate should be something more along the lines of raining down spears. Maybe your warframe throws one and it splits into a few more spears.

 

But that comes to another problem, the spears are like excals ult as well. 

 

The idea itself needs to be worked on a bit but in time it could yeild great results.

Leap/Plummet - Zephyr can do this already

 

Sacrifice - Mag can do this with no downsides

 

Spear Throw - Sounds similar to radial javelin but with only one projectile

 

Death From Above - Sounds similar to his first ability, and also sounds a bit lacking for a ult

 

If you're going for a dragon frame, these abilities don't quite fit

That's actually a rather old topic that's been in development for quite some time now. Hopefully it will go the way of Zephyr and actually grab the attention of the devs.

1. So its a superjump+divebomb hybrid and what either of them or both of them should have been. I think it should be a simple arced forward leap with the ground pound at the end automaticly. Don't try to steal zephyrs thing and says its original.

 

2. weird for the frames style and would require specific numbers to be determined before hand for me to say whether I like it.

 

3. Call it lance and have it just be the first part.

 

4. Call this blade storm clone Fervor and then make up something more original.

im just working my way back into my tablet cause i havent drawn for ages but i would love to work up a wip for this

 

i think you should change the first ability its basically zephyrs firs ability unfortunatly but amped up, i think it should be like a spear throw attack where you impale the first enemy you hit and subsequent targets behind him dealing a boatload of damage or something and then change the 3rd ability so that you cast it twice, on the first cast you jump into the air and channel for a few seconds where you can aim and re activate to slam down with your spean in the aoe you mentioned, that would make him more origonal and give him better skill use so that your not using so much mana on two skills for one awesome effect

 

edited twice now, i just thought of annother problem.. i figure one ability being a little confined cause of small rooms with short ceiling is fine but your 4th skill faces the same problem... lets see if we can think of something you can use in small rooms too.. maybe when you jump through your skills you bend the space around you allowing you to go through ceilings like your going into annother dimension to gain hight for the jump? or something like that..

1: i'm seeing a lot of comparisons to zephers in terms of the first ability, and they are valid, but i feel zehpers ability is more keyed to mobility rather than dealing damage. zealots leap ability is more keyed to activating his alternate abilities so he can rain death and pain down on his enemys. 

 

2: on the topic of zealots ult, as i said before i was taking a lot of inspiration from the fft class "dragoon". its main ability is to leap off of the map and land on a target for massive damage. also  dragoon main weapon is a spear in the game, so that,s where the use of a spear comes from. ( i will leave a link at the bottom to a video that is a great example of what a dragoon does. skip to 2:12 to see. its also the original ps1 version so they are called lancers, not dragoon but its the same thing really.) Death from above , as i'm calling it, sounded right because i felt it kept to the core gimmick of the character; jumping on people and raining pain.

 

3. his other abilities are just off the top of my head and are open to change. that's why i posted it on an open forum instead of keeping the idea to myself, i wasn't to hear what other people think and what changes they would make. 

 

4. this isn't a dragon frame, as i said before. this is a dragoon frame. they are totally different in every way. ( <--- that's a joke btw)

 

5. ( wow this list is long) google the word zealot and you should under stand why i used "sacrifice" as an ability and if you don't get it i will explain my thinking.

think blade storm but instead of stabbing, your pouncing on people and its an automatic thing, you don't have to jump from person to person manually
