How Do Red Crits Work?

I just need to know what the damage multiplier for a red crit compared to a normal crit is. The wiki article is poorly written so I don't feel like trusting it.

If you have more than 100% crit chance on a weapon, the % over 100 would be the chance of hitting a red crit.

Ex. 150% crit chance? That is 100% yellow crit chance and 50% red crit chance.

Basically, it is a crit upon a crit. Fairly simple to multiple.

Is there any advantage to having more than a 200% crit chance then? (you can get this with bows using charge mechanic)

I don't think purple crits exist yet, so I doubt it.  200% will theoretically guarantee a red crit though, so do that.

source?

the red crit multiplier is apperently 2.

I'm not sure though if it is a static value or the base crit multiplier, as all weapons you can get past 100% crit, have a base crit multiplier of 2.

I did some testing with Cernos back when the red crit mechanic was reestablished; it's a static 2x.

The highest crit multiplier in the game is 50% (dread, synapse, amprex).  Adding a max Point Strike increases this to 125%.   Also adding Critical Delay increases this to 149%.

How are you getting 200%?

I was wondering this myself.
