I can understand the sentiment in a way, but at the same time, the justification for it hangs on a thin thread I believe. Still, I guess a certain benefit from that is that you don't need to join a clan/make a dojo to get Vauban. It's frustrating to me that I can't give this thing away. EDIT: You know what, I have to say this. I see a lot of people complain on an almost consistent basis that acquiring Vauban is too difficult, but when a perfectly acceptable way of making it easier to obtain him comes along, the whole community shoots it down. Are you kidding me? Not only that, but I don't seem to recall this backlash when Banshee and Volt were put into the Tenno Lab, either, and they were Warframes obtained through nontraditional methods, too. To obtain Vauban parts you have to wait an indeterminate amount of time and have only an hour window to get a part you might not even need. Alerts are a horrible method of giving things but as long as it's restricted to some weapons, skins and other smaller benefits I'm fine. But an entire warframe? Oh hell to the no, especially when it's still divided in 3 parts. Furhermore I'm starting to believe the negativity to the dojo suggestion is coming from the same kind of people that complained when parts became guaranteed rewards.
