Llyssa
Of note, I rather much enjoy public games. You get to meet a lot of new people that way. They don't tend to suck as badly as people here are claiming.
Noioiy
There are two types of people. 1. The D_bags. 2. The cool ones. We don't know who is who until we actually play with them. In this case you ran into a group of D_bags. So be mad/upset at them, not at the whole community. I personally try and help new players as much as I can. If they are being a D_bag however.. PookieNumnums
it says mission aborted if force quitted. otherwise they made it to extract and timer ran out. if they did force quit there is a good chance that the host was farming for that mod, got it, and left
Lavon
Probably not going to read this but lamb this really is a great game apart from its bumps and harsh edges. The learning curve is tough but it isn't eve online, soon to be easier with the u14 missions to help smoothen the cliff for newcomers. That being said you'll meet A******s in any game you play especially an mmo. Now, when you get to higher tier missions you'll very rarely find A******s like you were describing, because by that time if you've put in the 100 hours it takes to get there, everyone else is there because they love the game too. Consider me for example, not sure how many hours i have not but i don't even have access to my computer in Washington state and am sending this from Spain. Don't like WF getting a bad rap even when I'm not there to play it. find a guild and have a blast!
MageMeat
For some reason I feel like I've been an A-hole to you in-game. I haven't even logged in for a week now. When did you start playing? Edited July 8, 2014 by MageMeat

nefrai
OP, you still have not actually confirmed what happened. Did they extract, or did the missions get aborted? Lot of players don't even look at chat (I've tried using chat, sometimes people see it and respond, usually they don't see it or ignore it). If the mission was aborted, that isn't their fault - if someone leaves, host will migrate. Even if they all leave, the host will still migrate and you would just end up in a solo mission you still have to finish. If you were simply kicked out of the game, that's a game issue, or a network issue you had - they have no way to force you out of the mission, outside of being at extraction. When playing with friends, we know to wait for each other. When playing with a pug, I know I'm expected to keep up, within reason. These players are likely farming, so are just trying to get through the level quickly. Sometimes people will wait, but usually they are going to expect you to stick with the pack. It's a fast paced game, and random groups usually don't have a lot of patience. You may want to let them know you are still new and need to get resources at the start of the match as well, and then they may be willing to help you get lockers/take more time in the level. Honestly, most of my experiences with people in this game have been pretty positive. I've only ran into a few trolls, or even the dreaded 'door heroes'. Also look for a clan in the forums, try to find one that plays like you do. --- What happened to my post?? I hit edit...but it posted as a new post? Sorry... I must have miss-clicked *hangs head in deep shame* --- Edited July 8, 2014 by nefrai

Ekaere
As a few individuals before me have correctly emphasised, it isn't reasonable in the slightest to disparage an entire community's 'worth' on the basis of a handful of individuals causing you any sort of distress. I am not attempting to insinuate that your distress isn't valid, it would upset many individuals in your position, however, the nature of your reaction is dubious at best.I say this of course as someone who until recently, strictly kept to 'Solo' missions, even if it was to my detriment, however in the instances where I did venture into public games, I have developed some very productive and cohesive interactions with other players that have flourished, they too by coincidence happened to be in a similar situation to myself. Given time I am sure you will find this to be your experience as well. We all discover abrasiveness from players on occasion, but as Lavon indicated, they are playing Warframe for similar reasons to yourself. It's always possible to find common ground and facilitate more beneficial interactions given patience. If you feel the quality of your gameplay is being severely impacted for the worst, consider finding individuals with whom you are "on the same wavelength" so to speak, as I did, and perhaps that will resolve your troubles. Aggh
They won't give less crap about the other players than they already are. No it doesn't prevent bad behavior, but you wont have to deal with it if there is any. As for host migrations and all its disconnections: This is not an issue we should take as granted. If every connection fails, at least you should be able to host yourself. It's easy to blame a single person for his difficulties in a game. Though once it occurs to a larger amount of people, things stand in a completely different light. I'd be surprised to see that I am the only one having this issue. No, if host migration fails you're automatically booted to the the menu and you lose everything. I lost a tranquil cleave back when it was trading for 250p because of a host migration like that. So yeah, the idea of letting people extract willy nilly even if they're the host does not sit too well with me or anyone that has played the game more than a couple hours. You had a full minute to grab that mod and they most likely even marked it for you ; people always mark really rare mods since they want other people to mark them as well. This really sounds more like it was your fault than anyone else's. Edited July 8, 2014 by Aggh
(PSN)Folkeye
I can add, new or not, it's still hard to keep up with groups. But do your best, you can always come back to the level with a friend or fly solo for a slower paced run through. It's what I do. I can't handle a lot on my own since things are getting harder, so I'll start on my own and leave it online and hope somebody joins me so I can complete it. While alone, I take my time, open crates and all that jazz. But if somebody else joins I'll work to accommodate their play style. Sometimes it's not so fast :) But there is some recruiting areas here on the forums. Let them know what you're looking for and you might find some new peeps to play with. If I had this on PC, I'd offer to join you.

Steelfeathers
It's hard to keep up as a newbie if everyone copter-rushes the hell out of every mission. I don't even copter and I still can keep up, Sprint-Jump-Slide bro. Or easier, spring-slide-sprint-slide-sprint-slide. I don't even put rush or maglev on. Aint Neo. But others have things like conscience or logic, they go to Tenno help sections, to feedbacks. They suggest constructive fixes, search for buddies. They don't make a general forum whine thread, provoking the "terrible" community to respond to you to feed your ashamed ego. Hell, you probably think I'm a #$&(%, don't you? You seem to quote and wink at every sympathetic person around here, who has thrown you a bone. Guess what, if people are new or ask for advices or simply manage to talk - I've been boosting helping for quite a while. I worked my way up, I don't mind easing it for others. If I saw you elsewhere, might as well have sent invitation. But it seems that you've come here to blame everyone, and to cause greater dissonance from replies. That's even worse than trolling. Mod replied and hasn't even closed the thread... Sheesh. There are good players and there are jerk players. Welcome to the forums, home of the jerk players. Wiegraf
I'd say, playing with random people results in higher chances to have a bad game, not consistently getting bad games. Out of the thousands of missions I've ran with PuGs, I'd say less than 1-2% were horrible to the point of cursing my teammates or just quitting the mission midway to search for another group. If we could scale the quality of group composition based on attitude and how pleasant the players are from 1 to 10 ("1" being the point where you just quit out of the game outright while "10" is the best ever experience you could have), playing with friends or clanmates would rank between 6 to 10 while playing with PuGs would rank between 1 to 8. It's just that you're more exposed to the possibility of a bad game with PuGs than with friends where playing with friends is much less frustrating considering you're playing more relaxed in a way and can actually joke around and have a good time despite having a failed run. Agua
There is so much wrongness in this post... 1- You where on a squad with your friend. If the other 2 people would've quit, it would've migrated host to you, or your friend. That, unless your friend purposely quit as well. Lets asume that all actually happened, those actions would make them loose the mod as well. (to your friend and the other guys) 2- Lets assume that the facts you explained are true. It is more likely that those guys got disconnected while waiting for you, and lost the loot because they waited you. And yet not only you automatically judge them as **** but also, try to further hummiliate them by doing this post. Excuse me, but I think you're the bad guy here. 3- Lets assume they are *** and they disconnected on purpose, and did it deliberately to make you loose that specific mod at the cost of losing it as well themselves, as odd as that sounds. You´re judging the whole warframe communty just by ONE little incident with some guys that. So, you're criticizing me, and hundreds of other people that have sacrificed the little time they have to help newbies to get stuff. From my point of view, you're the one ruining the community, not the rest. 4- You should really give an apollogy to the community. I hope you understand that you must always try to watch things from another point of view.
