Though it was a little while ago and no recent mention of this. This. I haven't watched many recent streams on if they updated their stance, but around the mid-20th Devstream (I believe) They were hoping to eventually get a "Rainbow Bridge" going for PC/PS4 crossplay. Unsure about the bit regarding out-of-sync patch interplay however. I do expect it to happen, it may just take a bit.
