Saryn's Venom And The Aoe Weapons

Had an idea, figured I'd ask before I go building it to try, but does the Ignis burst Saryn's Venom spores as long as they're in the cone, or would you need to aim exactly at each spore (like scoring headshots with the Ignis, as I've seen)?

If so, it would be a great combo, but if not I'll stick to something else.
As a secondary, would the Ogris, Penta, or Angstrum burst them in their blast radius?

popping Venom Spores can be difficult even with a precise Weapon, let alone an AoE Weapon.

Ignis is great for spreading Venom, just point at an enemy's general direction and pop. The only downside is its relatively poor damage (if unforma'd) and short range. I usually use a shotgun (even without punch through they're pretty good) or something like the Hind (good all-around, accurate, and can afford a punch through mod slot without too much power loss).

 

I don't think the Orgis, Penta, or Angstrum can pop spores unless they get a lucky shot though, I only own the Angstrum but haven't used the combo enough to know. The only reason the Ignis works is because it has a small bit of innate punch through.

That's a split opinion then. Does the Ignis work as long as the spores are in the cone or not? Not to be rude, I'm just looking for a definite answer.

Yes, any spore in the cone should pop. The Ignis only has like 0.2 punch through though, so there are some odd cases when a spore might not pop (if it's on an enemy's chest or something).

Gotcha. Thanks. I doubt I'll be adding anything for extra punch, but that's good enough. Just curious.
