at35z
Hi there, It has been discussed that the game should be on the Steam Workshop, since the community is incredibly creative and there would be no lack of content. But - IIRC - it couldn't happen for lore reasons, that's fine. But now we have Cosmetic Armor parts. They are a great first step to hit the Steam Workshop, since they have nothing much to do with the lore (IMO), so people can create new ones, and the developers can focus on other things. What do you think?

immolator1001
DE doesn't want to do steam workshop because it will probably be a hassle, but they are coming up with a weapon skin competition and said if you win you might earn plat from it. Angius
D*cks, d*cks everywhere. That's what would happen. No, Warframe does not fit Steam Worksop, since it is not, can not and should not be moddable, and Workshop=modding pretty much. Besides, nobody would buy Syandanas and armor made by DE when they can just download, or even create their own for free.
Dtexas
If DE does steam workshop, it can not be for things like people creating their own armors and stuff (at least at first) Because then all those cosmetics DE put in themselves will be wasted as people will more than likely use the free community stuff rather than pay plat for the stuff DE made. DE not only looses money, but their time spent on making armors adn other cosmetics and such is wasted as well. The only way steam workshop can work is if its set up like Portal 2 workshop is. Where you can create your own levels and play levels that other people have made. Like being able to pick the tileset(s), faction(s), specific enemy types etc etc. DE could even go as far as to let people make their own missions types and have them put through a screening process or something so that community members can test (and DE) and if DE likes it well enough or think it fits properly they could add this new game type into the game. It would also help with DE making other stuff if part of the community is helping build the game.
Retrikaethan
i approve using the workshop to help de make models and designs for things. although, i have to agree that modding warframe isn't really something that can be done.
at35z
You misunderstood me. I'm not talking about modding, like in Left 4 Dead 2's case. I'm talking about DOTA2's case for examle. People create awesome stuff, then the developers put the great stuff to their game, and makes it able to be purchased, and gives some platinum to the original author. Of course the "modding" is a terrible idea, I'm just saying that the community could help the devs making cosmetic stuff.

We had Meele weapon contest, now there's a weapon skin concept incoming... We don't need Workshop for that.
