"potato" Remover

Many of us made a mistake but upgading item and then realize that is not gear we want stick to. My suggestion is to make a "potato" remover item . Ordinary market price (20 p) and ordinary way to get it (invasion, alert, login reward )as other upgrade gear (mean potato and forma). Same thing for forma would be nice , or upgrading forma by adding capability of changing polarity slots , nobody pay for forma anyways ... :P

Why would anyone buy a potato remover for 20p when you can just get another potato for 20p?

OT:

I'm liking the concept of this idea (being able to upgrade a weapon and knowing that you'll somehow be able to apply that same potato to a stronger version of that weapon upon release), but I don't like the idea of it cluttering the marketplace. It's just one item that's quite harmless at the moment, but adding "Upgrades!" and then "Upgrade removers!" and such into the Marketplace eventually causes the marketplace to feel incredibly cluttered and unfriendly to new players. As a Maplestory player, this fear is real.

I think it would be awesome if we were able to somehow allow the potato to carry over into the upgraded weapon. So say we have a potato'd Magnus, and the Magnus Prime is released. We should be able to use the Magnus as an optional crafting ingredient for the Magnus Prime and have that potato automatically be applied.

Of course there would be fewer people buying potatoes for Prime weapons this way, but there will also be more players who will be willing to potato their Magnus because they know that it won't be going to waste if a Prime version is ever released.

Not sure about a potato remover. I will say this however, with the number of things that people already have potatoed that end up getting primed, perhaps there should be a "conversion" blueprint to allow an item to become prime whilst retaining the potato.

Why don't you just get another potato if it costs you 20p for this S#&$ty remover?

I suggest putting the blueprint in the market but limit the number of times that you can remove a potato from a weapon/warframe.

I think once or twice would be enough.

If it did cost 20p, noone would care how often you removed it. :P

Well ... "and ordinary way to get it (invasion , alerts , login reward)" < now that make sense :P?

Even then it'd be unnecessary seeing as we already get potatoes this way, as they'd likely have the same chance to appear.

If this were to be, say, an apology gift of some sort. I'd have no issue.

Unless it has some dire consequence that makes buying another potato better the better, I'd say no. Otherwise potatoes become a temporary boosting item instead.

Never sell things! Hoard! HOARD! HOoOOOooOOooOoOoARD!

Horde and Hoard are different words.

Yes but it's still stupid, for 20p you can get an extra potato, no point buying a S#&$ty one use remover.

Unlimited uses of a single remover could be possible.

But unlimited removes of potatoes will not happen.

If it's easy to get a remover, people will exploit this, so no.

If it's as rare as a potato, it may be fine but no one will buy it.

It'd be handy if you could transfer your potato on non-prime stuff onto prime stuff (but only straight prime upgrade, say Boltor to Boltor Prime), destroying your non-prime equivalent in the process. Could cost something like a forma, 50k credits or maybe even 5plat... Something cheap, anyway, so that it wouldn't feel like such a complete waste of money to upgrade a weapon/frame that has or will have a prime version.

People being wary of spending money on non-prime stuff probably isn't a very good business plan either.

That's the main thing to spend money on. That and forma. Even with tons of blueprints from the Void I never ever had enough forma. You can craft 1 a day, and weapons need minimum of 4 and maximum of 6 polarities, most being golden at 5.

Remover defeats the purpose of the catalyst/reactor system.
