"fixed A Movement Exploit Where You Can Wall Run Up/slide/wall Run Up Indefinitely."

I haven't been able to play warframe today, but does this patch note mean you can no longer hit the duck/slide button to reset your wallrun?

If so WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS DE?  This has been a part of the mechanics since I've started playing and never seemed anywhere close to broken.

But the devs even use this "exploit" in their own Devstreams... next they'll fixed an "exploit" where you could glide across the map by doing a slide attack in the air

EDIT: Some of the Void treasure rooms require you to do that unless you have Nova with you, what the heck DE

skills developed off of exploits cant really be called skills

That's ridiculous, exploits many times become part of the game, look at Street Fighter 2, originally combos and canceling animations was an unintended "exploit".  But this exploit and MANY others in fighting or action games have been embraced by both the community and the game developers.  Not all exploits are the same, game breaking exploits should obviously be removed, but an "exploit" such as the wall run adds a lot to the game and has become a primary part of many player's parkour skills, they REALLY should have asked the community first before removing it.

I'm going to miss that glitch... No more explorafun... no more gimping around... xD

Also I won't climb up to some of the Derelict/Void secrets anymore because without Nova/Zephyr it would take like 5 minutes to get up to some rooms with back flipping BS which is mostly not worth it if it takes that long... just better off finishing the mission and starting a new one. :/

Some of the shortcuts in most of the tilesets won't work anymore as well because they are a tiny bit too high for the normal wallrun to do it. Mainly the Grineer Asteroid/Shipyard and Gas City...

I've noticed there are lots of places that I could get to by running along an opposite wall and back flipping but it is usually easier to glitch run up. It will be missed but we must adapt.

It's going to really slow everything down regardless of how used to it we get. Definitely a desired mechanic lost.

what part of ITS AN EXPLOIT do you not understand

Sometimes exploits are integrated into the game, like coptering, and as Steve has related it, skiing in Tribes1.  It was a bug/exploit that ended up defining the game, and rocket jumping and such.

Other things a dev team can say don't fit with the vision and design of maps and the game and they are fixed/patched out.

Sucks because I use it all the time, but also nothing I did with that is impossible without it, but certainly makes some things harder.

Well with that attitude one could easily argue "cut out coptering as well, because it's also been an exploit that has been officially adopted as movement-trick."

I'm sorry, but on this one I'm with TanTheMan... Some stuff might not be intentional, but it's nowhere a gameplaybreaking issue. It's something that happened and went by unfixed for more than 8 or 9 months now... People have adapted to it and think of it as a basic feature, intentional or not. And saying "but the mods..." ... yeah could say the same about Rush/Marathon and whatever when coptering endlessly through the levels. ^^

I'm not explaining it again, reread my post, you OBVIOUSLY missed the point.

I sucked it up when DE decided to keep abusing coptering; now its your turn to suck it up now that this has been FIXED.

git gud... with your own abiity and skill. not gimpxsploiting

Coptering, was it fixed? I personally never used it. I was talking about infinite wall-running. I really did think it an intended mechanic and it indeed felt natural. Many maps almost require said wall run to get to certain locations, but this is not an exploited location. If this were to be getting to an exploited location, then Switch Teleport, Wormhole and Rip Line would be exploiting bombs. If this was never called an exploit, I assume you would have never had an issue with it. You just back the connotation that stems from the word 'exploit'.

To me, this would gimp parkouring, limit it, reduce it, whatever. we've all been calling to expand it. I don't like going in the opposite direction unless they have something to replace it.

you guys kill me... stamina is in place for a reason. bypassing core game limitations is utter silliness. you guys may need to go play other games where you can get away with this kind of behavior

Solution: Add a mechanic where you can grip the wall so that your stamina can recover, instead of instantly sliding down. This adds lots of parkour variety while not ignoring the stamina system. I think this is better than removing it entirely. If you wanted to go even further, you can limit this to ledges and strategically place them throughout a level. It doesn't have to simply not exist.

taking away wall vaulting will take away a ton of skill away from the game... You'd be surprised at how many advanced moves you can pull off with vaulting. Here's some vids to prove my point:
