Penta Damage Nerf Or Bug?

Before U14 came out, my fully maxed penta was hitting between 3k~4k blast damage hits against mostly all mobs.  With maxed Split Chamber, Firestorm, freeze dmg, fire dmg, status+fire dmg mods equipped, it was saying that I had around 4.8k blast damage.  After U14, it still said it had that amount but I just finished a T2E and I was only hitting enemies for about 300 dmg a blast.  I noticed that there was a slight fix to the damage it was doing with the Mirage's clones but I was running on my Vauban at the time.  Figured maybe it was the level of enemies, but it seems that my damage was halved even when running E Prime for Kubrow eggs.  Not sure if there was a rework to some damage modifiers or this is a bug.  Hopefully someone else is noticing this!

I'm glad I found this thread. I noticed this just last night while trying to level a newly formaed Banshee using an Angstrum on Ur, Uranus. I even noticed 0 damage on some blasts.

 

Then I tried the Penta just a while ago on Sechura, Pluto. Twice.

 

And failed. Twice. Both at wave 8.

 

Same issues. Failed coz I wasn't killing them fast enough due to horrible damage. Sometimes it took 4 or 5 or even 6 shots to kill even the lowly Volatile Runners.

 

Again, like you, on the Arsenal UI, it shows the same thousands of damage for the Penta and Angstrum as I had before. But when played, the damage was nowhere near that after wave 5.

I think I know why in my case. It may be the effect of cumulative damage reduction from multiple Healing Ancients. The change notes for U14 does indicate that Healing Ancients "Also reduces damage that nearby allies take" but they didn't state by how much, and if the effect stacks when there are multiple Healers. Apparently, the reduction can be significant when it stacks.

 

As for the T2E and E Prime issues you mentioned, I have no idea why. Maybe there have been changes to the Penta/Angstrum damage.
