-CM-s7even
Ok don't get me wrong, this new update is amazing! But am I the only one who hates the new way the planets and levels are displayed in the Navigator? Now if I could have it my way (insert Pun here) then I would just replace the display of all the planets in the Navigator back to the old star map. Like still have to go up to the Navigator and press X to activate it but then just have the old star map come up! I find the old star map much easier to understand where to go, what planet comes next after a completed one and honestly it looked a thousand times better, it looks like a actual Star System where as this new Planet display just looks like a Circus of planets, kinda reminds me of the old days when we all thought the Earth was flat but now we don't know how planets revolve around the sun? Let me know how you guys and gals feel about this! I would even be happy with a option in settings to pick between the two on personal preference. Leetium
it's not really relevant what revolves around what, but in one point the old system indicated how tough the planets are by being further apart from the sun.
-CM-s7even
I just feel like the new Navigator planet system looks sloppy and rushed, like they just threw all the planets into a big circle, but I know they spent a lot of time on that, so it makes me wonder why would they go with that look? vaugahn
It looks more like a spaceship navigation console than the last starmap. That said, it needs some work as far as labeling and menu organization goes.
Kaian-a-coel
I want an accurate display. With correct orbits. The new display is even worse than the first display they ever had (though better looking I'll concede that). What I truly want is a sense of globality. To be able to look at the starmap and grasp the whole thing as a single entity. The previous starmap almost achieved that. The only problem was that it was too abstract on the nodal level. It was fine on the planetary level (if dreadfully inaccurate compared to the real thing). The current display is too "closed". Not "open world" enough. I can't relate to a global solar system looking at it. I don't like that.

I thought it would but turns out it isn't the case. Ship+old map would be an immense improvement over just the old map yes, but the new display (it isn't even a map FFS) ruins the feel. Exactly plus it just looks proper, like the old star map looks like space with planets and the sun, the new one just kinda looks like well not finished. For me, floating above the solar system felt silly, like I wasn't really doing anything. The first time I saw a massive grineer ship fly over my window in the new UI I was like "holy crap, can I go kill that?" I feel like I'm actually there doing something now. He means the look of the new navigator star map, not the ship, The ship the way it is now plus the old star map in your Navigator is what we want! You can still look out the window of your ship and see cool things going on.
Inversus
They need to replace the circle feature with the orbital view, orbital made it easier to find planets you're looking for and check difficulty - also there is no way to see what resources drop on a planet without actually viewing the planet now, whereas the orbital map let you simply hover over planets. NoelleAllogene
I kinda miss the pretty old (update 7 I believe) revolving planet, where every planet has their own revolving speed, Mercury is the fastest, and Pluto is the slowest. just saying. Sorry D: That would be awesome, though wouldn't the sun have to move to make room for your dude sitting in the middle?

vaugahn
nah instead of you being in the center just have it projected in front of you and problem solved! I kind of like me being in the center...I always felt funny hovering up over the map like that. I agree though, the actual menus within the ship need some work. But hey, DE's usually pretty good about fixing stuff like that.

Kaian-a-coel
so our PS4 bretheren can just tap LEFT<>RIGHT on the controller to cycle through the planets. Spot on, I'm afraid. Ugh. I agree, on PS4 we still have the Star Map, i'm going to miss it :( And when even the people the change's intended to cater to don't like it you have a problem... Egg_Chen
Hate the new starchart (as with most of the UI but that is a different story). A PS4 user posted a pic of their current Starchart, I swear I almost shed a tear at how good it looks compared to the "improvement" we got. There was nothing wrong with the previous version, it did not need a complete revamp. I understand the Liset meant it needed tweaks, but.... why not just zoom into a holographic starchart like we had before (without kneeling tenno) that displays over the nav area of the ship? Because, consoles. Edit : Hell, the old chart could be a holo display out of our hand like many of the other UI elements. CandyDragon
Lazy UI design trying to appeal to console design. I pretty much called this once the microsoft announcement was made for warframe. Its really sad that the devs are trying to tell us that its "better" when its clearly not. Abandoning the platform that made your game popular in the first place. -CM-s7even
I can understand the circle idea to make it easier for the PS4 users, but why can't the PS4 users just use a analog stick that moves a mouse cursor around, lots of other games do this and commonly for the in game map, for example. Far Cry 3 on the console, when the map is brought up you control a small box with your analog stick, and when that box is near a intractable object it auto moves/locks to it. So why can't Warframe have this system? Then we wouldn't have to sacrifice the much better old star chart for this current one because of the Console gamers. (no offense console gamers I love you)
