Things You Don't Like About U14

First off I want to say that this is not a bashing DE thread. So don't go getting all aggressive and bent out of shape because of an opinion :=)

 

 

I think U14 is a great step forward. Lots of new idea and concepts going on. To be honest about things....there isn't really much I don't like about the new update at all.

 

Except....

 

1. I simply loathe the flying infested! I really wish, DE, that you hadn't put them back in infested missions again. Especially the defense missions.

And what of the Antients? Come on DE they are way too strong. Just leave them as they were please.

 

 

2. Leveling up is very hard now. (yes, I know it's a bit of a whine). It takes forever to get anywhere with a weapon or frame while trying to earn XP.

I feel this is a sneaky way to get us to part with our platinum and buy boosters?

Speaking of which, I was going to buy one but noticed the price had gone up to 80p. There wasn't even an option to buy for the usual 3 days at the cost of 40p anymore! Whats up with that DE?

 

3. Finally. I was disappointed that defense mission rewards aren't stacked now with U14.

I mean they stack with survival so why not defense aswell?

 

 

 

Please don't look at this post as a rant post, it isn't. Like I said, I think U14 is great, probably the best yet.

I just feel that points 1 and 2 I made have ruined the game for me atm. I used to love going to wave 50 solo in defense missions and leveling up at the same time.

 

 

 

 

So what are your dislikes about the new update fellow Tenno?

The horrible blue glow around players if they're obscured from view.

Ive suggested to DE on 6 occasions since U14 came out to add an option to turn it off. 3 hotfixes later and im still being forced to use it. Livid.

That's not new to me... It wasn't added in U14 D:

Well for one I'm incredibly dissapointed in just about everything about the Kubrows. Could've been a cool companion system, instead it's a massive resource sink for next to no reward. DE massively f-ed them up. 

 

A more personal one however is a fun little bug that has made it impossible for me to complete derelict missions (about 5-ish minutes into any mission on the derelict tileset causes the game to crash). And thus I am also unable to do the quest to get Mirage which is the first new warframe in a while I've actually wanted. So yeah that's annoying as hell.

 

Also +1 to getting an option to turn off the blue ally silhouettes, never saw them before u14 and they're very distracting.

The return of insta-death and the way the Kubrows have been implemented. I can't say I am disappointed though because I already expected the update to be a major screw up.

 

DE toned the toxin down, the Ancients  - which were manageable previous to U14, are now ridiculously OP, and that toxin spewing Mutalist Kookoo bird is not a welcome addition. We had a saving grace - an anti-venom Aura - which DE took away and called a "mistake" before people could transmute their way to getting it. All we have now is the mod spot stealing "ant-toxin, which is not nearly effective enough.

 

I don't get DE putting that bird back in the game - they JUST took it out amidst a flurry of complaints. The definition of insanity... doing the same thing over and over and expecting s different result...

 

And that stupid pooch mini-game (I always compare it to playing Tamagochi). The mutt maintenance is way too high - and this is not that kind of game. We want a vicious, helpful sidekick - like our Sentinels - not some brooding fur-ball that need feeding and attention all the time. This is Warframe, not Zynga Pet Dash! I want to worry about hard hard my bullets are hitting, not whether Fluffy got a bath today - there are other games for that, and most of them are on Facebook...

 

I know where the stupid dog thing is leading - dress him! Color him! Buy him some special mods! Deck out your Tamagoch... err Kubrow - with plat! Its obvious by all the ugly grey mutts I'm seeing that "doggie customization" is right around the corner...so predictable.

 

So yeah - that's what I hate about it. Love the new interface (well I'd like to know what's going on in each mission - like how many active teams, but...) though.

I have to disagree. They had this thing back in the very early updates and then they removed it afterwards, but now they brought it back (yay). I actually like it, because you can see where the other players are, if they are hidden by a wall. And yeah, for those that never saw this before: It was there really long time ago, like 1 year before this update.

The fact that they took out the number of players per-area so you don't know who is where. The fact that leveling is now sluggish and as someone has already said, they've bumped up the price of boosters in relation to this. Mirage being locked behind a 108-122 hour time sink. Kubrows being poorly thought-out, randomly dying or glitching. Load times being severely awful due to hosting and server problems. The lack of anything to do because you don't know who's where.

 

Basically I'm quickly getting sick of the game, free or not, it's taking a shady turn into the 'free-to-wait or pay-to-play' area of the market, all pointing to the acquisition rumours being more and more believable and potentially true now. They did so much wrong it's essentially killed the game for me, and I'm not the only one. 

 

Oh, and the mentality arising now that the game being 'free' means it's free of criticism. As someone who has bought platinum and sunk 141 hours (apparently, Steam is weird) into the game, I beg to differ.
