Silva And Aegis: It Needs A Buff.

I recently got the Silva and Aegis and you know what's coming, I like it but I (and many others) think it needs a buff.

This is a list of buffs and things that I think would make the Silva and Aegis a reasonably powerful weapon.

1. Give the Silva and Aegis extra Damage and buff the Status Chance.

Personally, I think the Fire Damage is fine how it is but what I don't get is how this Sword and Shield doesn't have any Impact Damage when it looks like it should have some.

I think it should have 30 Impact Damage to go with the Fire Damage.

I also think this weapon should have 30 Status Chance instead of 20 because it's a Clan-tech weapon but it's overshadowed by other weapons in the Market.

The Lecta for example has almost the same stats as this weapon yet it has better Damage and better Status Chance so I think it's unfair that this weapon has worse stats than some Market weapons. Especially since this weapon requires Argon to Research and it needs a Forma to craft.

Bottom line: This weapon needs extra Damage and better Status Chance since this is a Clan-tech weapon.

2. The Silva and Aegis needs to consume less Stamina while blocking and it needs the ability to shield charge.

I think it's rather funny that your using a shield to block yet when blocking with this weapon, the amount of Stamina consumed is as much as blocking with any other melee weapon and all I have to ask is why?

Many people on the Forums have said that this weapon needs to consume little or no Stamina when blocking with it. I personally think that it needs to consume less Stamina when blocking.

The other thing that this weapon needs is the ability to shield charge with it. How shield charging should work is when sprinting, you hold the block button down and when you collide into an enemy while doing this, you deal a forced Impact proc on the enemy and this should consume about 25 Stamina.

These are my reasons why the Silva and Aegis needs to be buffed.

Edit: I eat my words when it comes to the Status Chance. If it did have more Status, it would be overpowered and unnecerssary since you do have Event mods that increase the Status Chance.

I did not know that it has Impact damage on it's Stance.

Buff the status chance? With just two event mods it applies status to nearly every other swing. I don't understand your reasoning here. Mines sitting at 44% with radiation and it is always procs, evident by all of my enemies attacking one another.

Straight damage buffs are boring. This weapon needs more unique treatment.

So I proposed this...

"Blocking could absorb damage and add it to the sword's base damage for a limited amount of time.

It would make blocking more uniquely functional on the Aegis and give the Silva more power from damage absorbed."

Hmm interesting idea with blocking. You may think that the straight damage buff is dull but I think putting Impact damage on this weapon would be kinda interesting because it would make it a melee weapon that has both Physical and Elemental damage by default and the only other melee weapon I can think of that has this trait is the Mire.

It has Impact damage on the shield strike portions of the combos. Check the wiki. It sends enemies flying like the Bo.

I agree with the less stamina thing, but why would you need to buff the status?  The Jet Kitty has the highest status chance of all melee weapons in the game at 25% base.  This weapon has 20%, that is high enough.  The only thing it needs is 45 or 50 base fire damage imo.

The Jat Kittag is tied with the Lecta and Serro for the highest Status Chance of all melee weapons but I can see your point about the Status. If it did have both higher damage and higher Status, it would be overpowered.

Excuse me while I spam this idea in yet another Silva and Aegis thread, just like you I also find it mind boggling how a clan tech weapon can suck so much:

They should just make a series of mods for it, like "X amount of damage absorbed by blocking is added to the sword", "X chance to knockdown enemies at the cost of Y stamina while blocking and running". Hell, the lame @$$ glaive has like 4 mods for itself why not do it for the Silva and Aegis too?

Even though I didn't liked the Venka it should also be taken in consideration

While I do like the mod idea of "X amount of blocked damage absorbed converted into weapon damage", it shouldn't be an exculsive mod since it sounds like it could work with other melee weapons. Also I don't think releasing any more exclusive mods is a good idea, especially for this weapon since there is only one Sword and Shield, this weapon.

Should be inherent to the weapon. Would make it much more original.
