Megan Asked For Kubrow Mod Ideas; Megan Gets What She Wants

Ideas for new mods do develop for kubrows.  More ideas than you can shake a shakey thing at.  Or, ten.

1.)  Frenzy.

When player is downed their kubrow gains a huge bonus to speed and damage, his attacks can cause knockdown, and his health regenerates.

2.) Canid Sense

Kubrow growls quietly and points when he detects an enemy or trap that is not within line of sight of the player (as long as player not already in combat).  Nearest danger is highlighted.

3.) Shared Assimilation

Your kubrow can pick up health and energy orbs if you need them.  Health orbs are shared, energy orbs restore your energy but restore kubrow's shields.

4.) Evasive

Your kubrow moves faster and takes reduced damage from AOE attacks, DOT effects, and environmental hazards.

5.) Thick Hide

Kubrow moves slower but has a large, flat increase to armor value.

6.) Cunning

Every time kubrow gets a kill, he gains a permanent (for duration of mission) increase to armor, max HP and damage. Non-linear curve on buff.  Smaller bonus for a kill assist.

7.) Leap

Kubrow can jump and snap at flying enemies if they are low enough , with a chance to drag them to the ground.

8.) Venomous

Kubrow can inflict poison DOT on enemies that he bites.

9.) Well Trained

Cooldown on breed-specific abilities is reduced.

10.) Sacrifice

If the player is downed, kubrow will attempt to revive the player by transferring its own hitpoints.  If successful, kubrow is downed.

I love all of these except for frenzy it does not seem that useful purely due to the fact that being downed is something you want to avoid at all cost not mod for although it might help with clearing enemies away so other players could revive you so I guess its fine as is.

That was exactly my thought process.   It's basically the kubrow equivalent of the "Sanctuary" mod, a tool to help your team mates get you back up.  Except less sucky.

some ideas that i think would make good breed type mods.

Huras: stealth attacks target that is marked

Raksa: Guards a 15m area around that waypoint

Sahasa: digs rapidly around waypoint for ammo, health, and energy or makes a trap at that waypoint.

Sunika: Attacks and/or mark any heavy units like a heavy gunner that passes though a 15m area around the waypoint.

Not wild on the specific abilities you describe, but letting kubrows interact with your waypoints is genius. +1

This isn't particularly mod related but I'd love to have the ability to give commands to my Kubrow just like real dogs. For example, I'd like to be able to mark specific targets for my Kubrow to attack or command it to protect a specific area for defense missions or even give it a command to stop attacking altogether. Right now I feel the Kubrows are underpowered for the cost it takes to maintain them and that it would be more worth it if they were more effective in battle. Commands like that would make them much more useful as they can be performing one task while you worry about the other. Perhaps they could release mods that allow that to happen.

1) Lead

Kubrow leads the way to the target or extraction point. This will help when you really need to get in and out a mission fast in the most efficient way possible.

2) Assault

Kubrow run free of its master assaulting enemies on its own accord.
