Kubrow Is More Trouble Than It's Worth

It costs 100k a week to maintain.

Loses loyalty.

Stupid squishy.

Has next to no time to revive.

I don't get the appeal.  Rank 16 and nothing has ever been more of a bother in the entire game than this stupid Kubrow.

Games are supposed to be played for fun.  I work enough as is.  Make the game fun again.  Kubrows are not fun, they're just work.

100k per week isn't much and it can be decreased by good use of stasis.

Loyalty can be regained, and loss of loyalty can be avoided by getting gud (lol just kidding).

Try link mods, they're far from squishy.

This is true and annoying.

I'm just gonna uninstall till DE figures their shiz out.  Nobody wants to have to log in just to grind out another 100k and then spend it all on a pet that's going to die $&*&*#(%& fast.

I'd say I'll stick with my sentinels but the game has obviously become infatuated with Kubrows, and I just can't partake.

The fact that they can die permanently if the player doesn't log in for an extended period of time adds onto the cons of even investing in one.  By allowing a Kubrow to die, players instantly lose out on the platinum used to buy materials and rush incubation as well as any Orokin Reactors they may have fed to their Kubrows.

This same lack of permanence is the same reason I and many, many others have left Firefall and its fixed inevitable item degradation system; there was little reason to grind to improve your gear and then use said improved gear when using any piece of equipment chips away at a finite repair pool.  In the sense of Warframe, I have little reason to invest so much time and resources into a gimmick if I can potentially lose all of it at any given time.

Where was this confirmed?

A general discussion post: https://forums.warframe.com/index.php?/topic/272733-kubrows-can-die-permanently/

It seems a Reddit user dug up some Lotus dialogue that would entail nicely with the event of a Kubrow death as a result of DNA degradation and not receiving enough DNA stabilizers to keep its health above -100%.

"/Lotus/Language/Menu/ToxicityEffectFeedback1": "|PET_NAME| is malnourished and dying.""/Lotus/Language/Menu/ToxicityDeathMessageContent": "|PET_NAME| has died due a breakdown in its DNA sequence.""/Lotus/Language/Menu/ToxicityDeathMessageSubject": "Your kubrow has died."

Thank you so much. You're literally the only person with the manners to provide proof for your claim. You also just saved one of my Kubrows' lives.

Cost 100k for 12 days.

Each jab restores 40%.

You don't need Kubrow at 100% all the time.

My is at 80% and he does very well and I don't see any difference in HP honestly.

But he survives ingame mostly due to Pack Leader and Loyal companion.

Being a Raksha means he can scare enemies too if he bit too much than he can chew.

Must be nice to have gotten something that's not a Sahasa.

100k per week isn't much and it can be decreased by good use of stasis.

The problem with Stasis is that it takes 3 hours for the Kubrow to come out of it. I (like allot of people) have at best 3 hours of game time on a daily basis. It basically gives me the choice of either never using one or having to farm up the credits to keep it alive. And I would rather use those credits to build new weapons/warframes and upgrade/transmute existing mods.

If you can't afford to participate in the new credit sink... don't.

Or maybe one day they won't be the most annoying thing in Warframe.

I was actually enjoying this game.  I was having fun.

Then Kubrows happened.

Could you explain how exactly did Kubrows ruin your game experience?

Could you explain how exactly did Kubrows ruin your game experience?

"Hey look new game content!  Like all new content, it's farming intensive!  On top of that, it takes a ridiculous amount of credits to upkeep, has terrible AI pathing, and dies on the slightest whim resulting in penalties."

Kubrows are just more trouble than they're worth right now.  I don't even understand why they're in the game.

I agree the upkeep is rather spendy but that can be worked out later. I personally have been running with my kubrow for about 3 days straight and have never had it get stuck or die (it even took a wild kubrows attack head on and only lost a bit of its shields). If you really don't like it because you have had issues then ice it and wait till they fix it.
