Well... I Like The New Colours.

They're a little more vibrant in most cases. It's a big change, but I think I will get used to it, and in the long run it will look better.

Thanks for updating the colours, and making them like they were intended by the artists.

I do have a question though. Will we see the option to change "finishes" later on? Such as metallic, plastic, or matte? I think that, even though it is a lot of work, would fix most people's complaints.

I don't mind the new colors on weapons and warframes, since I change colors everytime anyway and this is an upgrade.

KUBROWS however, aren't customizeable.

We have no power to change them from looking like the crap they are today to the adorable one we grew to love.

So are people seeing the colors on the frame/sentinel matching up with their respective colors in the color packs? Because I'm not. Everything is too saturated and much darker compared to the colors in the color picker.

For me it is just a little bit darker.

But I'm okay with that. The colors are very vivid. Really attractive this way.

Pretty much everything just went darker for me, so anything I didn't like was just moved a shade or two to the right.  Simple as that.

I'm liking it, though, and enjoying kubrow shades in something other than white, white, and more white.

For me they look too saturated. I had this color set before the hotfix:

And it looked just like the colors in the color packs. Now, that dark grey is pitch black, that tan color is a dark brown, that off-white is a cream/yellow-ish color. The effect is too much imo. And the Gamma pack didn't make my frame look like this again.

I personally despise the change they did to the colors. Many of the colors that were perfectly fine beforehand are now glossier than a freshly manufactured plastic toy. I don't like that at all. The variation the colors had pre-patch is absolutely gone, imho. I feel far more limited in my choice of color combinations than I was before, because, for instance, all of the darker colors that were actually distinguishable now just suffer from the same, glossy issue as the darkest black on the shadow color pack, and not looking much different at all from it, either.

I, at the very least, want a visual option in-game to have colors set to pre-patch. Many of the color packs I had bought prior (being all but one) I would not have bought if I had seen them as they are now.

I despise them too. There was no bug with the colors. There was no issue. Only with the kubrows was there an issue. The colors we saw on our frames and sentinels were the same colors we saw in the packs. Yes, they were perfect. They may not have been preferable to some players, but they at least matched what was in the palettes. Now, they don't. Now, there's a bug.

This.

And if the whole thing was about the Kubrow they could have just touched up the /Kubrow/ Colors and left everything else as is.

I do hope they try and make something like the OP suggested.

No, it doesn't look better, because it doesn't reflect the colors in the actual packs. Every single color needs to be changed so that it matches with the actual corresponding color selection in its pack. That is the only solution to getting the colors right.

To be honest, idk how people think the colours before patch actually matches the colour picker, no, it didn't. It seems like everything is 1 shade more washed out/less contrasted.

After-patch, the colour picker actually matches now, and makes sense on the frames. What most people's problem have with it being glossy was due to the finishes being.. Porcelain? Instead of like what, metallic, matte, smooth etc.

Saturated colours are now actually saturated instead of a washed out version of it. Light greys are now actually light grey instead of looking like dust.

There's way more than picking one colour and expect it to be that way guys, it doesn't work that way. Especially in WF's case, texture is a huge factor. (Compare Mag's leather to Nova's porcelain, the same red is probably not going to look the same on both frames in some cases.)

I love the patch and the fix to it, however I kinda think there's other more important fixes atm...

Your monitor settings have to be completely different from a lot of the people discussing this, then. Cause most of us are not seeing this "fix" making the colors match their respective pallets. I run my monitor on a saturated setting to begin with (makes most of my games look better) and the colors actually, you know, matched. But now they're just absolutely vile. I abominate them as they are now.

yes, they did. I've already proven that. The issues are the colors themselves, not the material. Now, maybe the problem is that the shaders are too dark, but the colors now appear too dark and oversaturated. Take a picture, take any selected color square, and overlay that square over your warframe in that picture (Photoshop, Paint, whatever) and tell me that they match. You really don't have to do that, because I've already done that for you:

They do NOT match, whereas before they did, at least a whole lot more than they do now.

That's just a personal opinion, and there's no absolute right or wrong with what's happening. Yes, DE didn't do a great job thinking the aftermaths, because this is cash-related, therefore sensitive -- and whether everyone likes it or whether it is the result is the most common denominator. What I know is they can't please anyone, but they did mess up first, and trying to fix it.

You gotta admit the previous packs never really matches at all. They're like always 1 or 2 shades away, and it annoys the hell out of me. You don't have to agree with me, but you have got to consider what I said about textures being a factor. Didn't you see what they post on Excalibur? https://forums.warframe.com/index.php?/topic/273383-upcoming-color-customization-fix-planned-for-hotfix-1409/

That's exactly what's happening on my screen. So if that's not a good basis enough for you, I don't know what is. I was using Red/darker red on my Rhino for that colour layering, but it looks like the same red if you don't pay much attention. After patch, you can actually see the difference now without trying.

I do understand people are angry, because the intended colour got changed and now they -might- have to purchase new ones. That's a fact. Whether or not it is a pleasant change, DE needs to compensate, and they try to, but they didn't succeed fully.

People who think that the colours are too dark now are the ones who have never seen "real" colours on a calibrated monitor and i mean properly calibrated(for printing/artwork). The first time i used spyder4 to calibrate my monitors everything was a hella lot darker but the colours were...richer.

All DE did was slap a colour calibration on warframe and now its the end of the world apparently.

I use "storm set" a lot and the middle left red was always too bright when applied to a frame, now it actually matches and i love it!

I like how this will finally give me a bright red for update 14.

The new red is very red. I like it a lot. The only one that I had to change on some stuff was the classic saturated black, it was just a dark grey before but now it's actually black.

Before:

After:

Those were from right when I logged out and right when I logged back in, the red I'm using is the upper right most one in classic saturated.
