Alerts In General Are Still Bugged.

Sometimes when choosing the alert mission, you'll end up selecting the base mission, so you need to beat that and then try again.  This happened multiple times to me since U14 hit, and it just happened to various people with the yellow potato alert today.  I picked it and went right to it, others in another group told me they picked it and ended up getting no potato.

 

Which wouldn't be too bad, having to re-run it, but the alert was over by the time they realized the game didn't pick the right mission so they couldn't. :\
