ShardsSuperior
Why do Warframes have 2 legs? After all, 2 legs is an inherently unstable position. It appeals to our aesthetics, but that shouldn't be the reason that a crack team of assassins should be given such a weak form. Why not 3 legs, giving us a tripod of support? Renegade343
You do realise three legs in a tripod position will mean stairs can be hard to walk on, right?

ShardsSuperior
Tenno were once human, who have 2 legs, and warframes are basically just suites. There's new lore in Update 14. You do realise three legs in a tripod position will mean stairs can be hard to walk on, right? Not necessarily - we could probably "gallop" up stairs. Maybe some of the lighter frames wouldn't need the third leg, but I could definitely see Rhino or Frost being able to work with 3 legs, to resist knockdown better, for the point of tankiness. PsychedelicSnake
I'm pretty sure it doesn't deny the fact that they were probably once human. On top of that, doesn't even deny the possibility they might still be in general, just a bit altered. It's all still very vague.
Soulphoenix1
Why stop at 3? Why not 5 or 7? That could be hellish for you walk at times. We got used to our 2 legs now.

It is going to be hell to balance the tripod legs so they would not tip over from imbalance. And even if the legs can be extended or shortened at will, it is going to take a bit of time to balance out and finish the climb or descent of stairs (see camera tripod on stairs). vaugahn
If you were designing a suit for someone who was once human but isn't anymore to control, why would you give it an extra leg? How would a human even know how to control an extra leg? Imagine if you suddenly had an extra leg, it'd probably throw you off. If the tenno were warriors before they got into the warframes it would make sense to build the frames as close to their original bodies as possible so that they wouldn't have to relearn any movements. Plus didn't the devs say there were in fact people in the suits?

Renegade343
Prehensile tails. Balance and mobility. Problem solved. Yet we still move with two supports from that. Dragging the tail in order to create the third support will cause problems down the road.
