Hardware failure is something any technology-based business faces, not having failsafes for such would be beyond stupid. I doubt we have to worry about anything like that. I can't tell you exactly which solutions DE chose to do it, but they have several copies of these data. So everything will be ok. Don't worry and don't spread fear, it's useless.
