noveltyhero
Haha half of them didn't get paid to give good reviews... Reviewing F2Ps is also stupid because its FREE to play, which means you can just try it out yourself

ClockworkSpectre
Never ever ever pay attention to critic reviews, they are some of the biggest idiots in the gaming community. They rarely put in enough time to properly test a game out and give kneejerk reactions. IGN is especially bad. On metacritic the actual gamer reviews and the critic reviews are rarely the same, if you want to go there to see reviews just ignore the critic reviews because they are almost always wrong. PeripheralVisionary
IGN wrote that EA article. http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/06/14/why-do-people-hate-ea And with accusations of bribery to release favorable reviews for certain games? (They might be true, who knows) The best reviews are fan reviews. Edited July 29, 2014 by PeripheralVisionary

Babalenong
pretty much most VIDEOGAME reviewers only played the game for like, 4-5 hrs and doesnt bother to know what do they do wrong or something, so usually those scores are more like the first impressions of the game, not about the full game
Aceslade
I had learned not to trust metacritic in judging a game ever a long time ago. They gave rubbish comments and feedbacks on numerous games already, to the point that they should be considered highly unreliable. Trying out the game for yourself will always be the better choice than trusting them.
PsychedelicSnake
Not to mention they tried giving a finalized review to an unfinalized game. So on top of not really putting real effort into the review itself, they tried placing a rating system meant for finished products on an unfinished product. So there's that. LtZefar
I find the score to be rather fitting. Even if I got 800 hours in the game. Mainly because I like ranking up stuff and killing stuff. But the rest of the game honestly isn't all that impressive. DE also makes new things take longer and longer to get. You need to do more ridiculous grinding on a rare enemy that show up once in a while and you need to farm this enemy hundreds of times. Also this enemy is immune to all elements except one. Just in case it wasn't annoying enough. They still haven't made Void hosting public because it makes no difference going through recruit channel than public hosting. The Derelict also have the same problem. They remove hud element that are important. They still haven't added Auras that are being used on the hud. They removed infested from the normal planets with the exception of some missions. Now we generally only got Survival and Defense for them. Kubrow mods only drop from Kubrow which makes it rather annoying to farm them. The cost upkeep to keep them alive is just something I won't bother with when my pet has gotten to 30 where I will just ignore and go back to sweeper. Several Warframes that focus on damage enemies quickly lose their effect as enemies get too powerful. Cash shop prices for Warframes are just too pricey for what they are worth. Some stuff are just overpriced. Which is why I only buy Catalyst, reactors and slots. Too much random nature when buying Void keys with Platinum. I could go on and on about things that could be improved. DE though shows no sign of wanting to do it. I hear them say they don't want grind but then add something that is totally grindy. They nerf EXP on a new enemy with more than 50%. There is so much potential in this game but nothing is happening.
Hamstertron
I'd add that the game has changed quite a lot since that bulk of those metacritic reviews were written. Would be good to be able to purge the out-of-date reviews when some major milestone is released, such as when Warframe leaves beta.
Eclipsen
Most of these reviewers played the game back when it only had a few tilesets and reviewed it then, or didn't get far enough into the game to understand how it works. Anyone who calls this game P2W obviously hasn't put more then 5 hours into it, just to review it, and move on because they are not being sponsored to review it. Once the game comes out of beta (whenever that happens), the game will be re-reviewed and the scores will likely go up to 7.5-8 at least, which is far better for attracting players. P5YCH0T1C
What kind of P2W game offer a cash based items that make you stronger for free? It feels like they've played just 10minutes and wrote the review LOL.
CeePee
Problem is when these so called "critics" go off to play F2P titles when they've already been stuffed full of on-rails modern military shooter AAA games with everything action packed to the first few hours. F2P games, such as Warframe require way longer to get familiar with than AAA titles. Also, Warframe still isn't finished and the storyline is being worked on. "Reviewing" a F2P title in Beta like it's a finished AAA game is where these people go wrong.

ndantony
That the issue. Many of these reviewers (including metacritics) would give good review if the companies and/or devs pay them (free games or exclusive stuffs). Kickback is a normal thing. And sadly, good games like Warframe, get hampered for some time because of these kind of reviews. While savvy gamers don't really pay too much attention to these review but to actually try the game themselves, new players don't even give themselves a chance to try it because of these reviews. There is actually no pay2win game. No companies or devs would call their games p2w games. Instead, there are f2p games that focus on banking off the players. You're not short of example if pick up any mobile f2p app/games now a day. They give f2p games bad reputation in general and that the reason why so many of us are reasonably suspecting any f2p game before even try it.
