Why Would They Do That?

I imagine you've played through the tutorial, in which case you've heard what Vor said regarding how the Grineer were "wrong".

"The Warframe is but a flask....(and I can't properly remember the lines for a direct quote, but something along the lines of the 'frame molding their capabilities.)"

The Tenno are the few that returned from the Void just before the Great Collapse, twisted beings. But it was through the voids energy they were given unique traits and by putting on a different 'frame you mold your traits into the abilities you see between keys 1-4.

Tenno breathe. Hence the kind of 'oh god i'm slowly dying' when the bulkhead windows get blown open. And the need for life support.

Tenno, we think are humans, corrupted/warped/mutated from void exposure.

Grineer we know are not just clones, but a long long line of clones, leading to degradation of their genes and thus their malformed, diseased look half the time.

OH so tenno are humans and warframes are suits, but arent the grineer also humans? why do their bodys look so diferent?

Please read.

Also, if you researched, Grineer are slowly degrading human CLONES.  We (Tenno) are supposedly what's left of true humanity, corrupted by the powers of the Void and Technocyte Virus.

I'm just slightly worried when saying at the same time "what's left of true humanity" and "corrupted by void and technocyte", really.

The Red Veil members seem to be true humans. The Corpus, as far as we know, are biologically humans. Being void- and technocyte-corrupted, the suit-dependent Tenno should probably be described as transhumans.

As far as we know there's no humans left. Red Veil look human but they could be any old offshoot, Corpus are probably robots, Tenno are half technocyte, and Grineer are whatever they are

What about the humans we rescue at rescue missions?

Some are regarded as Red Veil, others have no name to them, but judging by the Lotus mark on them, they might be Tenno or Tenno sympathizers.

Oh, see from Vor's tutorial talk I thought that the Tenno were human at some point, but had become so corrupted by the Void, they were essentially conscious energy that inhabited the suits. The first Tenno may have had bodies, but the process became more refined over time. It also explains why we can switch back and forth between Waframes.

This also kind of explains Alad V's intro trailer, where we see an Excalibur (/w Pendragon) get sliced into parts but it's just black and burnt. Could be cauterization, could be that there's nothing really in there (also it's a T-rated game, whatever).

They breathe because...Warframe stuff.

The official description calls warframes exo-suits. For the ones that are anatomically impossible, they're probably amputees. Soldiers lose limbs sometimes.
