Ced23Ric Posted January 10, 2013 Share Posted January 10, 2013 Oh hai, Currently, Melee XP is gained really slow, whereas weapon XP grows quite fast. There seem to be two reasons. The first will be in this topic, the other one needs his own. As you fight with friends, you get "creep XP" from their kills towards your frame and weapon. This creep XP is assigned to the currently used weapon, which is either the rifle or the pistol - and never the melee weapon. Even constantly slashing to keep the sword out, so to speak, does not mitigate this. So my suggestion is that some of the creep XP is reassigned to the sword. In it's current inception, I get more XP for my sword by going solo, otherwise my buddies would reduce my XP gain, making it undesirable to have them with me should I intend to level my melee weapon. With weapons, I can just go and do my usual things, doesn't matter who gets the kill because of creep XP. With swords ... not so much. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Or a better solution is that when you press the "E" button the melee weapon should stay equiped until you press "F" again to equip your main/secondary weapon, that would required a new animation of the equiped sword, but i think that is the most practical solution, and that way, when equiped a sword with the left click will be the light atk and with the right click the charged atk. Part of good game development is thinking of efficient solutions to problems. I kinda disagree with that...be aware that im just giving examples about the hits, combos and all that crap. The main topic is that Melee weapons needs to be equipable as well as the primary and secondary weapons, melee weapons for me, as it is right now are really underrated.
