Suggestions: Improving Kubrows, Volatile Runners. And Ui

I am sorry if this has already been addressed somewhere in the forums or in a Devstream. Also, I am sorry for the oncoming brick of text you are about to read. Please know I dont want to be misinterpreted as complaining, as I am trying to offer suggestions to make game play more fun. While addressing issues I am seeing on the forums and personally experiencing.

 

Kubrows

Issue: I feel as though am I punished for not playing the game by having my Kubrows health & loyalty deteriorate when I am unable log in.

 

Potential Fix: Have the Kubrow's health and loyalty only deteriorate only when the Kubrow dies in battle.

 

Reason: This would allow the player to still play as often as they want, without feeling forced to play Warframe. While still maintaining a level of depth to keeping the Kubrow in good shape.

Issue: I am unable to use my Kubrow whenever I want to when forced to put it into stasis.

 

Potential Fix: Greatly reduce or remove the cooldown timer when removing the Kubrow from stasis.

 

Reason: As a casual player, If i want to use my Kubrow that I haven't used in a few days/weeks/months I shouldn't have to wait 3 hours to use the weapon I already have, and have worked for; when I only have 90 mins to play.

 

Commentary: I understand that the stasis is often thought of as a cash (plat) cow, but I think its important to note that this feature is the only one that is forcing us to wait when we change our equipment.
I hate to think this, but it feels like Perfect World Entertainment strategy.

 

 

Potential Fix #2: Have the stasis be a means to stabilize the Kubrow's DNA. After X amount of missions,the Kubrow needs to re-cooperate for Y period of time. The User would also be able to stop recovery early if they wanted with however much stabilization the Kubrow accrued. The user would / should be able to switch between kubrows as they are recovering.

 

Reason #2: This allows DE to keep the stasis valid, and also keep the ability to keep a model of platinum for shorter recovery time. 

 

Commentary #2: I think the recovery should be 1 mission = 2 hour of recovery, for a maximum of 24 missions with 48 hours of recovery; or the player could use platinum to speed the process up. 1 platinum = 2 hours of recovery.

 

 

I really enjoy the Kubrows overall, I think they add a fun dynamic to the game. The egg incubation time and potential time it takes to grind for an egg isnt a big deal to me, as I play the game for the grindfest for mods and parts anyways.

 

 

Volatile Runners

Issue: Runners explode dealing tremendous damage to NPC targets (mainly defense missions, although I am sure they would wreck the NPC hostage if given the accidental chance....but I dont think there is a infested Hostage mission..?)

 

Potential Fix: Reduce the explosion damage created by the volatile runners to NPC units only.

 

Reason: Simple enough, keep the damage to players the same but ease up on the NPC's

 

Commentary: I dont mind them destroying me in one hit, but trying to defend something that is surrounded by them when I am far away from the object, is truly annoying.

Often I am left with the decision to: A - let them explode on their own for large amounts of damage, B - Have me shoot and explode them for even larger amounts of damage, or C - attempt to close the gap to them and stun with a skill or destroy with melee.

 

Potential Fix #2: Have ONLY the Runners seek out the Warframe, leaving the NPC / object alone

 

Reason #2Force the player(s) to make the choice of abandoning the camping spot they are in, or defend the NPC.

 

Commentary #2: Defend the object or get exploded. Sometimes that could be an extremely difficult choice to make.

 

 

UI

Issue: I am unable to see all of the UI for the foundry and inventory due to my Warframe standing in the way.

(Red curve in the image) 

 

Potential Fix: Allow the User to scale the inventory menu's. OR Scale it so its not in the way (purple box in the image)

Commentary: Maybe this one is just for me, but dam do i find this annoying. I like to see everything in a menu without having to adjust the camera angles.

Before you say anything, I am playing on 1080p res at Full screen.

 

Take them or leave them.

I know DE reads the forums, I hope they (as well as the community) like the suggestions and consider them as a potential solution to some "problems".

About Kubrows: Loyalty doesn't decrease in time. It only decreases because of the Kubrow dying in mission. You may leave for one month and when you come back the genetic integrity will be gone but the loyalty will still be stellar.
