Kaisty Posted July 29, 2014 Share Posted July 29, 2014 Since plenty of people hate how the Dark Sectors have changed, maybe the system could get a rework. Instead of the Dark Sectors being clan controlled, why not have them be Faction controlled and leave it up to the clans and players to assist whatever faction they want to have the node. By this we could have (as of this moment) three factions fighting over the rails (Grineer, Corpus, and Red Veil) which each faction offering something different for the players who complete the Sectors under their control. If the Red Veil is in control, players get full credits from the mission (plus a bit extra), but the material drops and mods are less than normal. Under Grineer control, credits from the mission (both inside and from the total amount) are less as is mods, but materials are higher than normal. Finally, Corpus gives less credits and materials, but there are plenty of mods. Now if it is hard to code this into the mission, maybe it could be set up where players get random mods as mission rewards (Corpus control), more Materials (Grinner), or a boost in credits (Red Veil.) As for the players who already have rails and other things to hold the nodes, they could "donate" their resources to the faction of their choosing for the node they want said faction to hold. The more rails and troops they get, the stronger they are. Finally during certain times of the month (or week), when either two of the factions have reached enough support, they fight over the node and it turns into a mission that players run to weaken the opposing force in order to help the side they want to win gain control. Whoops. Upvoted you on accident. You don't have to support them. The same way you don't have to play Invasions. But if there is a Orokin Reator/Catalyst you would jump on that right? This i would support if it didn't take away the PVP aspect of DS, which needs to stay. It may not be ballanced now, but in time PVP in DS will be ballanced. Also i am pretty sure this is going to be proxy wars. XD I like your idea, but i would rather this not be Dark sectors, but its own mission. I wrote this topic from the point of view of the Dark Sectors that only have Infested as mobs, but as for an explanation to any that would have Corpus and Grineer as mobs...... they could be having us help keep hold of certain sectors because a group of Tenno farming them for stuff would be minor losses compared to a faction invasion that wipes everything out and takes whatever they might be finding/hiding? All it does is feed the inner 13 year old ego and make things like this stupid DDOS happen (not saying it's the reason we're having one atm but just another reason why people would do it). A game should never give a clan free stuff or an advantage just by 'claiming' terf. -feed the inner ego -gives reason to be underhanded (cheats/exploits/ddos/etc) -makes clans recruit people just for their input into 'owning' that plot of land with no real care for its members -takes the co-op out of the game by forcing people to hate eachother just cos your in either clan trying to 'own' dirt i can't think of any good reason for adding this type of thing to this type of game. It's advertized as a co-op game for people to play together. So why are they trying to cause fighting between players on a grand scale? internal clan pvp/normal pvp is reasonable as it's just simply friendly banter and, as i see it, a way for people to learn new skills from other people. Sparring being the fancy word for it. But this 'owning' of a piece of map? this is just something that belongs in a pvp only game about ego filled teens who want to gloat. It doesn't belong in a CO-OP game. 'Kaisty' has the best idea I think could actually work and make the game what it supposed to support... clans helping eachother and maybe a bit of sparring indirectly (by helping diff factions) without the ego trip as no clan is ever mentioned and thus no one gets the 'Teen Pride of Tiny Balls Award' cos they got their clan names in bright lights... when lets face it... that's all they're interested in... no money/items/etc. cos these clans have so many members they're rich enough without it... its ego.... pure and simple....sad really....
