If You Want To Keep The New Glitch As A Legit Thing... (Renaming Planets)

Recommended Posts

"Alert on Captain Sedna! Kappa is being overrun by Corpus from Pluto the Kubrow. Do you accept this mission for one side or the other? There's a reward in it for you..."

:D Just, yes. I wanna see my alerts spring the names that I've put down for my celestial bodies.

5 Reasons we should keep this

Its a fun Easter egg
Its harmless
Its encourages experimentation
Its a novelty like Kickbots convos and Flappy Zephyr
You could use it to hide more Easter eggs (name a planet something specific and you hear speech in reverse or some other harmless shenanigans like party streamer explosions or a hidden message from lotus)

C'mon we want it DE.

The "SAVE THE GLITCH" campaign has only just begun!!

PRO:

1. Overwhelmingly popular amongst users (at least amongst respondents of this thread)

2. Internal DE support (provided in another thread)

3. Consistent with in-game customization

4. Hours of fun viewing OP renamed solar maps

5. Permanent homage to U14

CON:

1. DE programming time to revert

2. Potential self-confusion in the unlikely chance that the user has forgotten their own renaming system

For me, I miss seeing Mars as Barsoom and Venus as Perelandra ...

It was an interesting bug, but I can't say I see the logic in wanting to keep it in. I'm not really sure why everyone's begging so badly for it to stay.

Naming loadouts and pets and things is not strange, but the planets already have specified names. And the names can be important when referencing planets to things like resource tables, squad matchups, and so on.

Sure, the bug is "harmless" as so many of you are quick to say, but that doesn't mean it deserves to remain as a function.

As far as immersion, I see no reason why we can't keep this.  We hack into Corpus and Grineer ships, why can't we do that to our own?  I've saved all of my GPS locations things like

"The Bad Place" Work

"Where My Clothes Are" Home

"Money" Bank

"Noms" fav bars/restaurants, etc.

If I was a Tenno, I would be hacking and renaming.
