-dicht.ThanksFrost-
So topics have been popping up all over the ps4 forums that people are scamming others. It's basically one of the oldest tricks in the book. "yo i can double ur plat, gimmie ur plat" "ok ^_^" Even when I was 8 yrs old and got into console gaming i never did this but it seems that more and more people are getting fooled. And it's not only this game, this has been going on since runescape possibly even before. It's evident in Halo, COD, Fifa, etc... This is not only a post to warn people but It's a reminder to shape up. Because it is obscene that a large amount of people are still falling for this trick. And in a sense I don't have any quarrel with the scammers since the victims ae stupid enough to give free platinum to someone they don't know. I hate using that word but it's true. It's like having a wad of cash, you are walking down the street and someone approached you and says. "Give me what you have now and I can double it in 2 weeks" and giving it to him All im saying is that yes, the scammers are full of S#&$, but so are the victims and the last thing I want is to glorify the victims because of a decision they made, they put the plat, they clicked "accept trade". In a way I feel that it's mostly their fault. The question is, should DE actually take the time to warn their players to an ancient form of scamming? Who do you feel is accountable in the "bigger picture"? What are your thoughts/ experiences with this kind of scamming?
zergla
People who fall for this is the same type of people that fall for the Nigerian prince, if they are that stupid they probably deserve it.
Kaian-a-coel
... People are falling for this? Are you serious? F*cking deal with it that's what I'd say to the victims, if you fell for something this blatantly scamming, you didn't deserve to be responsible for any amount of any kind of currency. (NSW)LilVanu
It's stupid and if someone tries to tell me to do it I'll report them. Unfortunately youth and stupidity go hand in hand. I was once dumb enough to give a player an item then they said they'd upgrade it for me. I was about 8 at the time and not very clever. The good thing is. I learned my lesson and never did it again. Sometimes getting scammed is a learning experience; and a costly one at that. Edited July 31, 2014 by Sutherland
vaugahn
DE can only do so much to warn against/prevent scamming. If you fall for something like that you're either too young to play this game or you fall for lots of other scams.
AM-Bunny
I've seen "double plat scam" pop up before, but I didn't realize what it was. I really can't imagine anyone falling for it. That being said, it doesn't make it okay. I hate it when people say "they deserve it" because nobody deserves to have their money stolen from them just for being naive or trusting. Rakshal
I usually don't feel bad for the victim in these circumstances in the slightest because they where stupid enough to fall for it. XD
Vyrn.
Most if not all of the blame does fall on those who seek to take advantage of the naive, gullible, and trusting. Wanting to do that is pretty sad on its own. However, unfortunate as it may be for the victims, it is part of life and an increasingly common sight these days. It is a mistake on the victims' end as well, sure, but they are most likely newer or younger players who don't quite understand the game or trading. Should it happen? No. Will it happen? Yes. People are people, and people suck.

XD This^^^^^^^^ I think of it as the online community's way of trimming the fat :s
JaysInc
If you fall for it, then there is no help for you. Only the people who have common sense need to be rewarded.
SSI_Kryptix
Both are as much responsible for this, yet I can't accuse those under aged players
ZWarhammer
If you're falling for something that stupid then frankly you deserve it! Might actually learn something afterwards. But i feel bad for the poor parents who's kids ask for money then do this crap.
