Build A Moa Workshop

Now I'm not sure if this has been suggested before (I'm almost certain someone has at some point or another) so forgive me if it has, but anyway here's the idea: Give players the ability to build their own MOAs.

Now why do that when we have sentinels and Kubrows? Well I'm suggesting it because I feel that it creates a bit of a compromise between the two. Personally, I despise the Kubrows. They're squishy, they're slow, they're not very smart, they're expensive, and customizing them isn't really much of a thing. I'm also not horribly satisfied with the sentinels, because I like robots and whatnot, but little flying cubes and gourdes that spray out death isn't enough to satiate my need for a robotic death-machine of a companion.

Now here's the deal: MOAs already come in a variety, much like the Kubrows and the sentinels, so you don't really need to add much to the formula, you got your stompy MOAs, railgun MOAs, standard MOAs, fusion MOAs, and anti MOAs. Now sure, they may be lacking in variety of abilities that the other companions have, but all you need to do is give them shield regen, maybe ammo-restocking abilities, some things of that nature, possibly even allow people to mix and match MOA parts to make some kind of wonderful abomination of destruction.

Now how would we go about building these MOA? Well, I noticed there were MOA models in the Corpus tech room in the dojo, which is what brought this whole idea about, so they could be added as a part of the Corpus tech room. The player could play missions where they collect parts of MOAs and then when they bring them back they can research said parts and begin manufacturing them. From there once you've manufactured the right parts you can build your MOA.

Now there's two options for use that I've thought about for them, the first is of course as a companion like the Kubrows and the sentinels, the second option would be using them as consumables like the Tenno specters. I guess it would really depend on their effectiveness, since if they were very powerful, being able to deploy them constantly like specters would make them a bit ridiculous.

Anyway, that's as far as I've thought it out. Someone else might have better suggestions or ways to balance the idea out, so yeah.

Sorry, but no.

It's not that its necessarily a bad idea. But it isn't going to happen. Zanuka/moas/raptors are Corpus proxies and they are likely to always stay that way. Trust me, the Zanuka/raptor idea has been discussed to death. Moas less so admittedly.

yes ,because as well all know the moa's are enemies, they can't be turned agaisnt their allies at all..ever...not once...except when we hack them.

Irrelevant and that wasn't the point I was trying to make. Those proxies are exclusive to a faction that is not the Tenno. Whats the huge draw anyway? Theyre just sentinels with legs. Whoopdee@(*()$doo.

Just because the other team has something cool doesn't mean we should have it as well. Why don't we have anyone trying to start Rollermine pet threads I wonder?

I stated the reasons for wanting them in my original post. I'm dissatisfied with sentinels and Kubrows. I like the idea behind the MOAs moreso. Even then, a lot of items we do have are items from enemies, hell, most of our arsenal is comprised of weapons that are from other factions.

I understand and note your desire for Moas and dissatisfaction with current pets.

Thus far, pets have been influenced by other factions yet none actually belong to another faction. It would be a different story if grineer heavies had carriers/deathcubes floating behind them or if we could toss out a specter that looked like a Corpus Prodman.

Just because some weapons are a direct copy of Grineer/Corpus weaponry doesn't mean the rest of the arsenal needs to follow suit.

I'm pretty much positive that if we are to receive a faction specific copy of a proxy it will either be a moa or rollermine. I just doubt it's going to happen.

I could be wrong, the addition of specters is something I would never have seen coming a year ago. I'm just of the opinion that certain faction exclusives should remain as such. That's just my opinion, it only matters as much as you let it, mate.

do you pay attention to the labs? the tenno constantly raid and steal technology from enemy factions. the moa could be awsome, a walking arsenal. possibly load up a weaopn or gear on it that you can swap out in mission.

yes i like the idea of putting weapons, or items into the moa. use them as a mobile armory sort of thing. nothing execssive. perhaps like you want a sniper just in case, or a rocket/grenade launcher silent weapons stuff liek that. it would be pretty cool.

Semantics. Each of those is only relevant to lore. Valkyr is Tenno, the Salad V stole her while she was in cryosleep and experimented on her. The Orokin are no longer a faction. Both of your points are quite moot.

There are always going to be people who are for and against an idea. Just accept that I'm against it instead of trying to dissuade me, it won't work.

I will dissuade you until I am done dissuading you.

i'm not trying to sway your opinion, yoru right some like it some don't. i'm just saying your point of 'we can't take them' is invalid. we do and quite often steal technology from other factions, and suit it to our purpose as tenno.

I'm not disputing that we as Tenno are basically the Americans of the Warframe universe (taking everyone else's tech and claiming it as our own) But, I'm of the opinion that enemy troops should remain exclusive to enemy factions, it's what makes them unique.

Wild faction is up for grabs though. If people want sandskates, dogs and birds as pets they're welcome to it. I won't even bother disputing it. However, ever since sentinels were introduced to the game, players have been asking for customizable Moas as a follower. DE has not even once acknowledged it as a possibility so I feel like these request threads are falling on deaf ears.

Want what you want, I can't stop you. I can advise against exercises in futility, though.

I take offense! You are racist good sir! I know many an entrepreneur in America with great, unique, ideas. This is very racist, and very wrong. Let the reckoning begin.

Yup racist against my own kind. I'm going to assume you're being facetious since there is no plausible deniability for the fact that America is a melting pot of cultural influence, the majority of which it can't claim as it's own.

I don't see what's wrong with a tenno having a proxy. We already steal a good portion of our weaponry from other factions, and we know how to hack MOAs to fight for us. It would have justification in the lore.

You stole the words right out of my mouth. Besides, I like hacking MOA, it's fun to watch corpus cut down their own robots.
