Mak_Gohae
Just loaded the vid, it's processing. Taking a long time at that. The Kubrow attack when you attack and an enemy is near it's attack sphere. Using the Codex Scanner is treated as an attack and that means you can point with the scanner to "tell it" to attack. So what do you guys think? Should the Codex Scanner should be used as a way to get better control over you Kubrow? Any ideas? Kestral9999
It really still should be as simple as setting a waypoint on the enemy. I don't wanna have to deal with the hassle of pulling out my Codex Scanner every time I want to issue a command to them.
Muffle
You could also just swing a melee and not hit anything, or fire your pistol and miss.

Austerity
Thanks for taking the time to post this. It was very amusing. Although I can't see much actual combat application for it, it is probably worth playing around with for a few minutes just for sheer amusement factor alone. If I'm doing a stealth mission, I'd rather just kunai the mob or paris prime them as opposed to wasting time with scanner. The idea of shoot to miss just to get your dog to attack, i guess is feasible, but I'd rather just shoot to kill. Honestly I'd much rather have a "Heel" command to keep it always at my side. Yeah, mostly for solo or stealth play. But in solo and stealth play one interesting possibility is nullifying heavies as the video shows. I know that there one Kubrow type that actually had a hold attack so you can totally stop a heavy for doing anything. Actually, in that section with the heavy he walk to that point and just didnt move for a long time. Without the dog i dont think i could have move toward him without being noticed, so with the dog you could control the engagements better if you want to stay unnoticed. They should really add stealth missions now that this type of stuff is possible.
NuLycan
Honestly, I think there should just be another button that orders your kubrow to attack. Maybe put that as the mouse wheel button instead of activating powers. Just a suggestion though. Edited August 3, 2014 by NuLycan

I dont know if there are empty buttons on gamepads now in Warframe but if there are.... the i guess we can add a simply attack/recall command. I use a controller for the pc, and there aren't any free buttons left. In fact I had to ditch aim for melee block.
-Vondred-
Kubrows should have more functionality. It should attack when I want, watch my rear when I need it, attack whatever, whenever, if I want it, not attack at all, or even sneak with me. Instead of hitting a button to toggle these functions, I'd prefer a navigation wheel that is activated with 1 button.
Mirriky
Great video, basically highlights a good number of issues that kubrow AI have and the distinct lack of commands they have.

Are you using a PC controller or an Xbox controller? Cause the console controllers usually have extra buttons on the sticks you can press down. Mak_Gohae
Logitech 310. Trust me, I use all 18. Ok so this might prove difficult. The idea of a one button wheel may work since a menu pops up which then can be navigated with the control sticks. But this is not going to be a quick reaction thing. SoulEchelon
It really still should be as simple as setting a waypoint on the enemy. I don't wanna have to deal with the hassle of pulling out my Codex Scanner every time I want to issue a command to them. We'd have to have a separate type of waypoint that's specifically just for marking enemies for our Kubrow to attack, which would be cool. However at this particular moment it seems this codex scanner idea is probably the best way to do it. As for it being inconveniencing, what I did was place my Codex scanner on the last gear slot, and set that key to V. I can simply switch to my codex scanner immediately, without having to go through the gear menu. I've had it like that since the codex scanner was released. Extremely helpful for those quick snaps. -CM-Asmud
Or just do a melee attack in the air. Kubrows count that as an attack and will go for the nearest target. No need to get your scanner out.
Cyriann
This "control" system is interesting to play stealthy. And, as you said it needs to be tested on other Kubrows. I have a Huras and will conduct an experiment to see if what she does is accorded to the situtation thought she automaticaly camo us upon a certain range of ennemies. Maybe she'll use the "charge" attack more wisely. I'll tell you once did. EDIT : Well it does work but... With the Huras it constantly triggers the charge, which certainly does quite a lot of damages but moves also forward on a quite long distance. So O don't recommended using this with Huras un less you are not seeking to be sneaky and your kubrow is tanky, it will attract a lot of attention to it.
