Dumb Lore Theory - Alternate Helmet Names = Tenno Names?

I've had it in my head for a while that whatever naming system the Tenno use (if any) falls along similar as The Lotus - potentially excluding The (though I liked to apply it for my own personal reasons). So, rather than Thomman Zaruk, or any other "normal" future-sounding name, you have names that are lifted from other nouns and attributed to the Tenno.

And it just now the idea struck me that, maybe, the names of those helmets we have - Quantum, Essence, Vanguard - maybe those are names attributed to those helmets based on the names of the first or greatest Tenno to wear their designs? Sort of how we name inventions or scientific finds out of people who had a great deal to do with said whatever.

This'll, most likely, NEVER show up in game - and if anything what DE chooses to do with the Tenno names will probably contradict this. But, for the time, I find it an interesting thought to consider.

AMENDMENT: Yeah, I know that the names are taken from real-world mythology and language and ect., and that's probably all there is to it - a reference, nothing more. I'm just considering what I think to be an interesting in-game explanation and possibility.

To be honest I think they are just taken from our actual earth folklore or mythology.

Excalibur for exemple his hemlet Pendragon and Avalon are taken from the story of King Arthur. I think the name is just there to fit the warframe theme.

Oh, no DOUBT that they were taken from the real-world mythology, language, ect when the devs were considering the names - I'll even made an amendment to the OP that said real-world reference was probably all that was intended. I'm just considering a tantalizing in-game theory as to a possible deeper meaning.

((I'm waiting for the helmet named Richard then))

This is a very interesting idea.
I would say it works like this,
Real World References -> Names of Tenno -> Those who excel even among the Tenno become immortalized in a helmet custom crafted for them. When the Orokin Fell, these designs became more public between Tenno.

Would you settle for one named Lionheart?

That would be adequate.

I don't know what frame would be called Lionheart for that matter though.

Or why anyone would be named backdraft, but...

How does Valkyr fit with this idea? She's technically a recently created frame with no history or time even to have been made custom helmets for.

Bastet was her first alt helm, implying the original frame she was made from was named that way? As it is a more 'whole' helm, not appearing to be skinned in any way.

And Kara would then be the particular Valkyr captured? A helm created specifically to mourn her capture? Seems kind of like a slap to face really.

Better ideas?

Quick answer:  Historical reference, again (per AlphaFox)

Bast (or Bastet) was the dynastic Egyptian lioness-goddess of  war (note the "cat ears" on the helmet).

Historical reference is a quick and easy way to reinforce the character's underlying nature - in this case of being a "warchild".

@ Morec0 ... So, while the names of the helmets are most like just story device that does NOT preclude your supposition that the Tenno themselves choose (or were given) these iconic names rather like soldier tag names

Nice pickup!  +1

Well, I was thinking a "Lionheart" helm design for Excalibur - you know, Richard the Lionheart and all that.

As for Backdraft, from Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Backdraft (sorry, copypaste didn't work out, but backdrafts are nothing to sneeze at.)

This is a good point... It also raises the question of Zephyr...

With Zephyr, I can't possibly explain it (at least not right now), but from Valkyr:

I always liked to picture the Valkyr frames as originally having been the Valkyrie frame before Alad got his hands on them (potentially all of them, though bringing in the original frame would be an interesting way to Prime it). Bastet could have been one of the original Valkyries who somehow maintained her helmet design through Alad's experiments (or perhaps Alad himself reconstructed it during his expiraments?), and then Kara could have been one of the Valkyrs to first break free/be freed (I say "break free" because of the bonds syandana for them, which I like to picture being a left-over from the "original" Valkyr the bonds specify breaking free from the prision and then freeing the others, the others being the variants that Alad tinkered with after her.)

The existence of the Kara helmet, and its design, seems to me to be a Corpus-made design intended as a further way to bind the Valkyr and potentially train her (I've seen comparisons made to its look and the look of some Weapon-X training equipment that Wolverine once had to wear in the comics) and after being freed she continued to wear it as a way of saying: "they tried to break me, they failed, and I'm going to REMIND them of that by KEEPING this little device of theirs' as long as I live."

But that's all just speculation, like I said: it was a dumb theory to begin with.
