Licter
Prime Frames should not be used as an ePeen status symbol. Claiming otherwise just exposes your greed. And? People can already trade mods now. The introduction of an AH has no effect on this, and it is irrelevant to the discussion. Artficial limits on an AH (outside of listings per day) is a dumb idea. If someone wants to trade for something they cannot use yet, then they should be allowed to do so. If they want to buy a soma (for the sake of argument) blueprint at MR3 then sit on it until MR6 then they should be allowed to do so. If Prime Frames aren't a status symbol, then what are they? An excruciating means of saving a single Forma (which are generally easier to get than the entire set of BPs)? And I'm going to go ahead and indulge my cattiness and point out that claiming status on an acquired item like a Prime is more vanity than greed. "...it is irrelevant to the discussion." This: .... The only real concern is that democratizing the means of trade means people can get items easier. The largest barrier to getting items in the current system isn't the cost, it's finding the person and wading through the poor interface and restrictions. If it actually were as easy as "buy plat, go to AH" to get things, then people would have all sorts of items very very quickly/cheaply. Well said Zeylon. They also give you additional MR for continuing to play as a frame you enjoy. This is coming from someone that spent hundreds of dollars for cosmetic items in DFO. It's greed since you want to make it that much harder/more expensive for other people to obtain it.
-InV-Skitz0
I very much like the approach you have underlined here, my only question is about prime sets. Would we be able to say list an entire Loki prime set as apposed to just the helm?
DPV111
I don't like the trade chat because you have to actively monitor chat for the transactions you want. I don't like the trade chat because it forces you to negotiate with one person at a time rather than everybody who is offering / seeking a specific item. I don't like the trade system because it forces you to enter a dojo for every transaction. I don't like the Trade system because you can't access your inventory while in a dojo. I don't like the trade system because Clans can charge arbitrary taxes on trades done in their dojo. What I want is an auction house that allows you to put individual items up for Platinum in a progressive matchmaking system where the lowest asking price wins the highest bid that is above the asking price. So if 3 maxed Serrations are offered for 200p, 225p and 250p and 3 bids are made: 250p, 225p, and 200p, the 200p the 250p bid wins the 200p offer, the 225p bid wins the 225p offer, and the 200p bid and 250p offer remain listed until a compatable transaction is available. I also want the auction house to have a transaction listing where people can pre-define transactions similar to trading transactions. For instance, I could offer a specific listed transaction of a maxed serration for a maxed redirection. Or an Essence Helmet for a Loki Prime full set. What I would like is for all trading to be done via in game bidding and listing. I want trade chat gone. It is too arbitrary. I want trade forums gone. They are too meta, immersion breaking. RealPandemonium
An auction house probably would cause prices to plummet, making individual trades less profitable. On the other hand, you would be able to constantly sell the trickle of rare mods that you accumulate fairly steadily, perhaps. It could break even or even be better than the current system. ...Or it could end up being a way to force players to buy platinum for slots. I'm not sure I want to find out. Eudamon
I would suggest the following: That rescued trader (Davos? Davros?) is willing to sell your stuff. For a percentage, of course. You give him the item and tell him what you want for it. He will put it up at the end of the day, and you cannot change the asking price for at least 24 hours. He will also collect all the other items of other people - and will put them up together with your item at the same time. If the price is too high, nobody will buy it. If so, you have the chance to give a lower price the next day. Essentially, as in any market economy, eventually prices will adapt. Supply and demand will determine the prices, until the equilibrium is disturbed. Then they will settle at a different point. Due to the 24 hour waiting period prices will be adjusted slowly. In addition I like the idea that Mastery Level determines the number of items you can put out for sale.

Would we be able to say list an entire Loki prime set as apposed to just the helm? You would not be able to under the AH system that I have planned. Reason being, I believe it should be for trade only, since the advantage of selling sets is something that trade needs above the AH. The AH would be for singular items, thus keeping its focus to items of high value.

This was highlighted by CYB13RPUNK, and has been implemented into the main post. Under a blind bid system ^^ However, sets or item trades would go beyond the scope of an auction house and I feel they must remain in trade. There is always a trade off and a little bit of immersion is that trade off for being able to trade at all. Semshol
There are a ton of people in this thread debating irrelevant points and using terms such as 'greed' as an argument against the limitations I have suggested. I will not reply to those individuals, simply because, irrespective of what they believe, I am not doing this out of greed, I am doing this for what I believe will be the greater good of the Warframe economy. Those against may make their own threads.

That is personal gain, not the greater good. Just because you can't counter it, doesn't mean it is irrelevant. bumping That's against the rules, btw. Xylia
Action House almost kill Diablo 3. Solwly took away the fun of the game, and everything start to turn around the AH. You don't even realize when you start farming gold or items with the AH on mind, and not just playing the game because it's fun. Learn from Blizzard, action house would kill Warframe. The only reason why the AH killed Diablo 3 is because there was no reasonable way to obtain loot on your own without having to buy it through the AH. Blizz (wisely) decided to allow the solo player to gear up in-game instead of dropping 99.99999% junk and 0.00001% useful things. Then they went "Hrmm, if players are getting stuff dropped in-game, do we really need an AH? No, we don't... so let's just remove it." An AH will not kill Warframe because Warframe doesn't have RNG-Generated Loot (loot with random stats) and most items (sans a few ridiculously low chance void drops) are reasonably obtainable, therefore players won't feel forced to use the AH like it was in Diablo 3. Basically Diablo3 was "Grind for gold to dump on the AH because that's the ONLY way to gear up" and/or once you were geared up it was "Kill the same crap millions of times hoping to make some cash on the RMAH". For those who did not want to use the AH, Diablo 3 was a horrible and boring game because loot was far too hard to get ahold of (again, most of what dropped sucked horribly; you wound up using horribly outdated equipment because the game always dropped stuff 5 levels below you even off of bosses). And even then, a lot of times you'd get crap like Intellect on Barbarian Weapons, or Strength on Sorcerer weapons. So, TL;DR: The AH did not Near-Kill Diablo 3. The absolutely horrible loot design Near-Killed Diablo 3. The AH only added fuel to the fire of "why is the AH the ONLY way to get anything whatsoever!?" Ensign_Zero
I say DE look at drop tables and keep items at a fixed "market" price. How? Sellers will vendor their items at a discounted price from the market price, say, 75% or 50%. Meanwhile buyers would pay a bit more for their convenient goods than a deal they would receive from trade chat, say 10 to 20%. This would serve as a "trade tax". Trades may be cancelled with credits. A person may only have one or two trades slots, universally. No "pay x plat to unlock trade slot". You can only make 2 trades a day. An alternative would be a referral system for trades. A direct, player to player trade system. Let's say player 1 is online and looking to sell mod x. Player 2 wants to buy mod x, and has just logged on. Both have their offers in the trade referral system, and both players receive an alert regarding "matching trade alert...accept/decline". Then the players would enter a private chat and decided upon the parameters of said trade. This is personally preferable for me.
Davoodoo
Release ah without limitation and keep trade chat. If people decide that either is better then other one will become obsolete, artificial limitations just to keep obsolete system intact is really stupid.
