Alternate helmets are in a sorry state.And the switch to arcane helmets did not solve the problem, it just shoved it onto a smaller minority. What is the problem with arcane helmets you might ask?Well many people are unable to get them because they are no longer available, and even if you do have one then you can easily get stuck in a position where you must sacrifice aesthetic preference for the stats you want, or vice versa. If you ask me it was a sloppy move on DE’s part. What I am trying to do here is separate the arcane helmets into two items. The purely cosmetic helmets that we see in the market today, and the stat potion that is reintroduced into the game in the form of warframe essences that are equipped like mods, but don't level up or cost points!And they get there own slot of course! There would be three different grades of essence, lesser, normal, and greater.All three can be bought for platinum, but their blueprints would be available in the market for credits. Building a lesser essences would require a part of the warframe that it pertains to, and some common resources.For example, if you wanted to build a Lesser Essence of the Patient Fighter then you would need a Ash part (systems/helmets/chassis) of your choice.To build a normal essence you would need 3 lesser essences of the same type, and some uncommon resources.Greater essences need 3 normal essences and some rare resources.This would give a reason to fight a boss even after you have acquired the warframe it drops. I am well aware that the arcane helmets have become very valuable items, and that some people would feel cheated if they payed for something that could all of a sudden be acquired in game.So as compensation, anyone with a arcane helmet could either trade that helmet in for its greater essence counterpart, or they could trade it in for platinum.The platinum amount would vary between helmets, and be based on the average selling price for the that brand of helmet.You would also get a blank version of the helm no matter what you choose. =====Essence List===== Locust Ash Helmet: Lesser Xirka Posted August 27, 2014 Share Posted August 27, 2014 Your idea is not bad, but still has the major flaw, of forcing people to give up their Arcane helmets. You see, DE has already set a precedent of us keeping them, even if the system has changed. Even with getting some sort of compensation, many people who worked hard to collect all the arcane helmets would not be happy if this happened. But the way I worded the thread made it hard to understand, and it stirred up a firestorm of confused people with the wrong idea.
