This is the actual real reason, thank you for actually answering to a question you knew the answer too. Basically M$ has policies about Cross-play with other consoles, and this was purposely give people the idea that the only way to game with their friends was to buy a Xbox as well because they already owned one and you didn't. The last time the question was asked on whether Xbox will remove those policies, they simply said "We will be looking into it, but for the meantime enjoy your Live experience." A Realm Reborn: Final Fantasy 14 will not be ported over to the Xbox One, solely because the developers refuse until Xbox allows Cross Platform Gameplay. As of now PS4 doesn't have those policies, but the reason why it's taking such a long time to allow Cross Platform play with PC is because of patches. Sony takes a large amount of time updating Warframe because they are checking for errors (which there has been a ton of in plenty of patches, and when the patches pass the bare minimum to be updated they are normally the worst patches in the game because the team was rushing to have the update released already.)
