It may be the server is just under strain do the an influx of players or the server may not be on yet I don't know.

They officially released it today so yes the servers are up

There's always the chance the servers are simply overloaded due to the sheer number of people attempting to play at once. Usually DE fixes that kind of thing pretty fast. Otherwise, perhaps restart the game/your machine and try again?

Yes I am currently experiencing this problem right now. I had a black screen when I was in my ship, ready to start a "Solo" mission then that happened. Now I cannot connect to the servers. I have restarted the game. I think it could be the level of players connecting all at once. Love the fact that this game is now on Xbox One (played on PC)
