AdunSaveMe
Don't get me wrong, the one we've got is kickass. Though it would be nice to see mission type & squad count without hovering over the node. But the one we saw earlier on was MORE kickass. So is it a work in progress? Is it ever gonna look like the original screenshots? Cos that'd be awesome. DE pls.
Stormandreas
It was likely the concept, and clearly too resource heavy for general gameplay. The current design is the same, but toned down a lot to work on MUCH lower end machines.
UnknownBlademaster
Give it time. Archwing was being developed since, I believe, U10 or U11? So yeah, they've got alot of stuff coming NONE of us know about.
JohnProdman
Concept art always looks much better.
Photon95
The original "screen shots" are just concept images. They were kinda rushed to add U14 in the first place (the hype), so not everything is exactly as it was portrayed. But of course, they're always fixing things, so if they feel that another UI change is in order, they'll get to it.

AdunSaveMe
Could also be your settings. It isn't. Was likely just a concept. But it'd be kickass if this was what it looked like, even if it required max settings.
direcyphre
Literally concept art. Lots of post-processing make it pretty, of which might be a bit annoying in game (like even more bloom). They've already done a fair bit of tweaking as well, since it needs to be readable and usuable in all situations first and foremost.
(PSN)IIIDevoidIII
Yeah, the concept looked amazing, but as mentioned, it just wasn't practical for the setting they wanted it in. They'd probably have to add a loading screen to opening the nav system just so that it would run smoothly.
thelastpwnr99
While all of the above comments make sense, I'm sure we can expect some more HUD dexterity when/if Mission Hubs are brought back to light.
Candengard
Not going to comment too much on early concepts, but look at Earth turntable, the current one is actually an improvement in usability over the concept, as strange as that may sound for the current one. This guy gets it. Yeesh. That concept actually looks worse than the current starmap.

We pretty much have all the info we used to have, except for faction markers for nodes I think. The problem with that concept is the angle. The current node map is bad enough with the way the planet gets in the way, that concept is flattened out even more. It does look pretty though. It would be nice to see the mission type without having to hover over the node. Now that they're big rectangles instead of small icons, that information could be displayed more readily. If you aren't 100% familiar with planets, it sometimes turns into a round of "hunt the gamemode" Edited September 3, 2014 by AdunSaveMe

I'd like to have a line of some sort to clarify the links between nodes. What leads where. This isn't present in the current version. The bricks are also rather empty and could use more info on them, like faction icon and mission type.
CandyDragon
The teasers like many things are likely just mock ups with no real substance. Its not uncommon for developers to overhype something that isn't even created yet. Gearbox and colonial marines is a perfect example.

We lost easy visuals for how many active missions were at each node without hovering, if I'm remembering correctly. It's also harder to tell at a glance which missions you've completed, have only unlocked, and which are locked, because the colors/highlighting are more similar. It'd be nice if the entire wedge turned color rather than just a border.
