Valkyr is the worst name for a warframe, and slightly offensive/insulting in the current context(there's nothing about her that's remotely valkyr-like, except for the implied vagina). Her powers don't match, her appearance doesn't match, nothing except the ever so vague correlation of "female that might hold a spear", but we don't even have spears. It's upsetting.

 

It's also noted repeatedly that, because of the lore on her, there could never be a prime version that makes sense.

 

Here's the great solution:

 

It was stated in the livestream that Archwings will get their own skill sets and own abilities and weapons that each frame can then use.

 

It would be great, and fix all the plotholes and loopholes and whatever if Valkyr had a specialized archwing function(she'll need it, her stats are awkward without her regular skills). Since Valkyrs are supposed to be "angelic taxi" to the afterlife, this would be perfect. Give her a spear ability, a quick space ress, and a quality charging manuever.

 

These would be valkyr-specific, and augment her archwing abilities. Better yet, a valkyr-specific archwing.

 

Then, the lore can be pieced in that she's an archwing specialist frame, that never normally saw ground combat (hence the ultra-weird stats and unthematic skills for her ground combat version).

 

Then, the solution to "how do you prime a flesh-stripped thing that has skills based on the torture" is easy--you don't. Rather than the valkyr frame getting a prime variant, her archwing itself gets a prime variant. That way, the prime version and the "regular" version have the same skills, and both remain thematic, while not messing up her lore or design.

 

Plus, in this way, she actually *is* named properly, instead of the current, vague melee-and-vagina connection.

 the few  ques that make her look like a valkyrie, are mainly her default helmet and war cry, and it looks like you didnt watch the livestream to nitice them saying there will be themed based archwings along with there own weapon types.

I doubt they'll be themed like warframes are. It'll probably just be archetypes, like support, tank, damage, stealth, etc.

Not to mention you're pretty wrong about the Origin of Valkyries. They're more or less female warriors/maidens that chose who lived & died on the battlefield (in various ways depending on the depiction).

 

Also, when was it said that they had to use spears? They wielded various weapons.

For the sake of completeness, I feel the urge to point out what's wrong in the OP post.

 

1. appearance doesn't match.

 

Look at her back. Her metallic spine is plain sight. Valkyr prime had flippin' wings and Alad ninja'd them away.

 

2. Valkyr prime can't be made.

 

What if I told you... the Valkyr we know is temporary. She is in between the original Valkyr prime and an hypotetic Valkyr Vandal, reconstructed to her former glory by the Lotus (or by the Red Veil, in that case she would be a Valkyr Wraith). Valkyr prime/vandal would have totally different stats and abilities than the current Valkyr. The current one is a different warframe, only carrying "Valkyr" in the name and a few other similarities.

 

Valkyr prime can't be made? More like Valkyr prime, vandal and wraith can all have the same chance to happen without breaking any lore.

 

I made this fan concept for valkyr vandal a while ago, just as mind fuel for the hypotetic abilities.

By the way, I may be wrong and this can actually be a random thing, but I believe that DE conceived Valkyr with Archwing already in mind, so i agree with your valkyr-specific archwing idea.

The Valkyrie were a Norse legend of warrior-women who value courage and tenacity. They considered it the highest honor to die in battle and that only the bravest warriors who fell on the battlefield would be welcomed to their domain in Valhalla (their heaven). The Warframe character was a Tenno who was captured and tortured, and now only exists to fight against her former oppressors as vengeance. In addition to being female, all of her abilities are offensive and she is primarily suited for melee combat - hence her name being an abbreviation of "Valkyrie."

 

As for "Valkyr Prime," I believe DE has already said that they plan to introduce upgraded versions of all frames. So we may see the frame Valkyr was before her capture or another creative spin on lore with Valkyr's own upgrades. I think she has the most potential for dramatic changes in her "prime" variation, even to the point of having little resemblance to the post-Corpus frame.

in fact many of the Valkyrie had sister swords, swords forged to finalize there connection to each other  

 

and your half right there more like spirits of warriors that where women that take men Valhalla and fight for Oden

A prime is an Orokin Original. So as long as Valkyr is not a Lotus/Tenno frame, it is somewhere.

As for the appearance, look at the primes, she can change quite a bit.

You do realize she was experimented on, and tortured, So she isnt angelic anymore. which is probably why her name is shortened to Valkyr, Because she isnt an angelic Valkyrie anymore.
