Killing Lephantis With Melee Weapon Only... Is Possible?

I've done it with Glaive Prime and wasted an obscene amount of time, but perhaps that doesn't count because it's still a projectile.

I saw a vid where four guys were whacking their melee weapons at Lephantis and killed him... without a Glaive (and don't be smart and say Kestrel or Glaive Prime!).

I think that might have been in the good ol' couple days where Lephantis was stupid easy to kill, which is kinda cheating in my opinion. I'm not really sure.
