Clan Halls On Upper Floor?

I'm not sure if this is feedback so much as a question. I'm rebuilding our dojo because my friends, for whatever reason, built it all in one long straight line with cross connectors, clan halls, etc. This made it a HUGE pain to navigate and it felt like it took 20 minutes if you wanted to go from a lab to the dueling room! But I digress.

 

I finally finished tearing down the long line of clan halls and placed a T-connector and an elevator going up. My plan was to place our grand hall just outside the elevator (right now our only hall is the basic hall/spawn room, we have the old clan hall so we don't want to destroy it.) But it was not available to build outside the elevator. Do I have to place a hallway or connector before I can place the hall? Or something else?

 

Also, on a related note, is it possible for me to build just the basic, grand, and grandest halls without building the great and greater halls? Some of my clan members said they didn't think it was possible but I feel like it would be...

You have to build the halls in order.  You can't skip the middle ones.  I'm not sure if you know, but you can change which clan hall is your spawn room.  It's an option on the decoration terminal in the room.  My dojo has the small halls and all the rooms you don't need to visit in the basement(reactors, oracle, and barracks) and the labs, useful rooms, and 2 largest halls on another level.

I just started a clan of my own and I searched up your last question for hours.

What I found was, 

   You need the Great/Greater to have the one above it and so forth.

 

I also searched up if I can just destroy them after making the Grand Hall but you also can't do that =/

Yeah, I was aware that you can change which clan hall you spawn in, but like I said everyone in the clan is a big fan of our old hall so it's probably staying the same. Anyways, that's a good idea - just put what you don't want people looking at away in the basement. Thanks!

Sadly, all the old rooms were removed once the new ones were added.

We still have the old style clan hall and one cross connector? If we aren't supposed to, don't tell DE! I like the old style clan hall much better. :o

They just removed it from the build option. If you still have the old rooms, they were left as is.

 

So once you remove those rooms, they will be lost unto the void. That's the main reason why my clan hasn't reworked our first floor.
