Institute-Marksman
Planetary and Spacestation hubs is what I'd like to see.(Earth) Remote Grineer Jungle SettlementNPC's present: Grineer Rebels, (Grineer) Smugglers.A settlement hidden deep in the jungles of Earth, these Grineer deserters remain alive by trading smugglers to get them supplies. They wish to remain off the charts by only allowing personnel in that serves a purpose. They allow Tenno in, but they realize the Void energy might attract unwanted visitors. Some Grineer have given up fighting and have focused on the value of the native plants. Some Grineer wear Kubrow Teeth Necklaces.(Notice: This is a small tileset, the village has consists of max 3 medium-sized tiles.)Impression:You select the Node and travel to it. After that, a second animation plays, showing the Liset descending into the forest (gameplay)You switch to your character, and you are able to move right after you touched down. You can walk down the ramp, which closes if you move far enough away. (cutscene)Two armed guards and a spokesman approach. and speak in very bad english: "Welcome, Tenno." You stand amidst trees on a round landing pad. Several flags wave in the faint wind, having some crossed-out Grineer writing on them. A stack of crates stands beside the landing pad. The ground has boards on it, providing a makeshift pathway. A makeshift guardhous stands besides the path, where the guards can stay. Across the pathway, another landing pad similar to yourse holds a Grineer-style shuttle. A vague figure is loading crates. As you follow the path, you find another landing pad. On your minimap, this area looks like a clover. You approach the village, which has all sorts of makeshift houses. Between the houses, Grineer guards patrol the area, Occasionally, a smuggler is talking to one of the Grineer. The houses can be entered via a door. The houses' interior are all somewhat similar. Power lines connect lampposts set inbetween the houses.(Phobos) Red Veil OutpostNPC's present: Red Veil guards and other military personnel. The Red Veil has constructed an outpost here, beneath the sands. They survive solely by raiding Grineer platoons of their supplies. Tenno come here to sell them items of value, or to buy weapons and loot from the raided Grineer. Darvo occasionally visits them to make an 'arrangement'. Some raiders wear or sell Desert Skate Hide, which is heat-resistent. Tenno can equip them, but can also trade or re-sell it to other NPC's. (Notice: This tileset consists of various tiles forming a hidden base.)Impression:As you are dropped off in what seems like a barren desert, you see a large rubble pile. On closer inspection, it holds an entrance. Upon entering, you are welcomed by a Red Veil guard. You can explore the various segments of the base, all serving a specific purpose. You might come across Darvo, but he hasnt got time to chat. Some Red Veil guards have just raided a Grineer squad, and are trading their loot. They are also willing to trade with you. Weapons are usually confiscated, but some may try to sell their looted weapon to you. Some Red Veil wear Grineer armor, some wear Skate Hide.(Jupiter) Corpus Asteroid Mining StationNPC's present: Corpus Refugees and Blackmarket Salesmen. This abandoned Corpus asteroid station once served as a central ferrying post, packaging the valuable minerals mined from the nearby asteroid field. When the field was depleted of valuable and useful materials, it became abandoned. Since then, refugees settled here after having bought their individual freedom. Smugglers sell supplies to merchants, and then to the inhabitants, and Crewmen often come here to sell or trade for their loot. Despite of its remote location, visitors are required to land their craft away from the station, in an asteroid. From there, they can catch a ride on a small Corpus shuttle, which uses specific flight paths to avoid being detected. Darvo often visits this station to sell and trade for items.Impression:As you travel to the location, you are contacted by the Comms crewman. They tell you to store your craft in a remote hangar, and use their trams, to not draw attention to one spot. You can land your Liset anywhere, and continue onwards with your Archwing. You enjoy the view underway, and soon approach the station, which is built into a large asteroid. Trams land in the hangar bay where you land. Trams fly in and out, carrying visitors toward their ships. You can board the trams and catch a free ride across the asteroid field. The tram will occasionally leave to visit a remote asteroid where a shuttle is stowed. The hangar bay is about as wide as where you stored your Liset. Several consoles are mounted to the wall, and at the far end is the flight control room. Because you are Tenno, you are allowed to go anywhere on the station. There is are several corridors which holds several stands, where merchants have displayed their merchandise. In a corner stands a Crewman, looking around suspiciously. He buys weapons from Smugglers, and re-sells them to Tenno. Darvo visits this place often, tries to sell stuff and buy other stuff from people there. He may approach and offer you a deal, which is usually an assignment with an attractive reward. These missions can only be done if you talk to the right person.(Europa) Corpus Underground BaseNPC's present: Corpus Refugees, Smugglers and Weapon Dealers.Formerly a research station of Alad V, Corpus refugees, smugglers and exchange traders try to make a living in this relatively safe haven, after literally having bought their freedom. The inhabitants have an arrangement with the Corpus Board. If the Board receives 50% of all income, they will turn a blind eye and ignore them. There is a 50 credit docking fee, a small price to pay for the freedom of these people.Impression:Once you approach the surface, you notice that the whole base is sealed, even the hangar. It doesnt seem very large. There are five large buildings, with one in the center You are required to approach a big building of which the roof will open, and the hangar reveals itself. You land, and the roof closes. Artificial lights switch on. Once you exit your ship, you notice a Crewmen patrolling the walkways suspended along the walls. The building is square, even on the inside. There are windows located on every wall. Across the room, you see a Crewman standing behind a Terminal. He enters your time of arrival, and asks you to pay the 50 credit docking fee. You give him that, and he thanks you. He walks away to perform his routine checkup of the hangar. You pass through the door, and find yourself inside a hallway with small rooms on the sides. They are storage rooms, holding cargo. As you pass through the hallway and through another door, you enter a room about as large as the hangar, with some stands where merchants sell their stuff. No doubt, there is at least one Crewman here spying for the Board. It is quite the busy hive, compared to the desolacy of the Asteroid station. There are very few Smugglers here, the majority of people is civilian. Refugee Crewmen, in different outfits, keep the peace here. Like in the hangar, there are walkways mounted along the walls, and windows to stare into the distance. On the outside, there is no oxygen to breathe, nor an atmosphere strong enough to keep the pressure right. The base is made of ship hulls, to be able to support life. On every wall, there is an elevator located that will take you downstairs. There are a lot of rooms here, most of them living quarters, with the occasional cargo storage. Here is where you find the weapon dealers. They sell Corpus weaponry which they have 'acquired'. This area is quite dull and grey, compared to the upstairs area. Institute-Marksman
That's a good idea. But an overall military style, with Grineer cargo and machinery scattered. Edited September 15, 2014 by Institute-Marksman

Institute-Marksman
I believe in oine of the devstreams they showed that hubs were meant to be space-stationey 31;15 That was a long time ago. I bet things have changed since then. Besides, I think that was a concept for the new Star Chart, the ship we have now. Nevertheless, it was a good idea. My idea adds to that as well, I believe.
