Pyrana And Auto-Fire

I crafted a Pyrana because I like the tenno style weapons and the idea of an auto-fire mini-shotgun for a sidearm sounded interesting. Now this weapon cost a forma, so it is definitely what I consider a more expensive item.

However, the auto-fire is basically nonfunctional due to the massive recoil. Even at point blank range if you hold down the trigger you will end up missing most of the 3rd shot and just forget about it for the rest of the clip.

Can you just reduce the recoil to a usable amount? I know its supposed to kick a little, but this is just ridiculous.

Also, if you could tighten up the spread so it can reliably damage someone more than 10 feet away from me that would be great too.

OP: "I want this gun to work this way, therefore you should make it work this way!"

Why don't we just make every single weapon the Boltor Prime while we're at it as well? You know, no recoil, insane damage, high fire rate, near perfect accuracy?

There is no need to be so patronizing, OP is giving his feedback on a weapon that could honestly use a little love to make it more than just mastery fodder.

@OP I suggest the use of steady hands (like another poster already has). Alternatively, you may want to try +firerate mods, I am using the kraken atm and increasing firerate allows for the two shot burst to be shot before recoil can really kick in. It's a bit of a guess at how it might react with the pyrana though, but might be worth looking into.

Pyrana?  Mastery Fodder?  No way.  A common problem with it is its kickback, yeah, but it's not impossible to handle, even with lethal torrent on speeding up the fire rate.  It's not an 'aiming/iron sight' gun.  It's a hip-fire weapon.  And if you treat it like such, you'll clear hallways.  Tilt down a little bit when you hold the trigger, and you won't need to spend a mod slot to compensate for the recoil and instead pour on more damage and maybe a little love to the crit capability it has.

The Pyrana is truly a nasty piece of work. If anything, it's the reload speed that's most annoying about it.

As for recoil, yeah, it has a lot, but that can be mitigated by Steady Hands or just a dab hand on the mouse.

Punchthrough? Stick a Seeker on it and you will see the power of the handcannon on infested.

Now the real issue is waiting on the inevitable Akpyrana and...Pyrana Prime.

The real value of the Pyrana is in corpse splitting for extra desecrate-y goodness. Sidearm of choice for Nekros.

Actually the only ranged weapon that seems to be good at splitting bodies apart is the Dread, it always has about a 50% chance to split corpses while even the Miter and Drakgoon only have about a 10% chance (I tested it myself). So, overall, you're just better off beating dead bodies with your melee weapon to split them apart.

The question is "When?" though as no tenno clan tech weapons have been primed yet. So far only old market weapons have been primed.

The Akpyrana is all this weapon really needs. Priming it would be cool, but of course it's going to be a long, long way down the road. I just can't get the will to potato and forma a weapon I feel is probably going to get a dual variant soon...

But, of course, I could be wrong. It just looks like a weapon meant for dual-use.

The Braton Prime blows enemies apart quite frequently. It's a go-to primary for my Nekros.

The Pyrana issue really comes down to forma availability. It's easy enough to make extras for an Akpyrana, but you probably don't want to use a 4-5 forma one for duals. Then again, forma are a renewable resource (aside from time spent getting them), so it just depends what you want to do.

Whenever an Ak variant or the prime(s) appear, the Pyrana is around now and it's fun and useful. The main thing holding me back is the forma my Brakk is consuming at present.

Actually the Pyrana has a 80-90% chance to split corpses. Melee and Dread aren't even in the running.

Now that DE made beacons ridiculously obnoxious to farm for, I would say that Nekros with Pyrana is a necessity.

can you post your build?

highest i got so far was this:http://goo.gl/1yi0j0

my, I've forgotten you can build that on AkBronco Prime, on Pyrana the highest I've been doing on Builder was around 60k, or something like this. Or was it 45k? I don't remember, still it's godlike.

I am willing to get my own rebuilt and then build it like that with 5forma.

Hint: take a look at details, it looks a lot better in there. Still it's very situational, and to get the best results you should sacrifice some damage, maybe take out the Target Cracker and put another Forma to fit Seeker.
