Creating Or Joining A Clan

I know this is a nube issue but im trying to join a clan but when I type in the name of  a clan that should exist I only get the option to create a clan, I don't get anything indicating I can join a clan.

 

according to the warframe wikia you join a clan by typing in the name of an existing clan in the clan join box in the contacts window and getting approved. 

 

can anyone help me out on this one?

Im guessing it is case sensitive, and sometimes small typos O and 0.
