Guest Tehnoobshow
What if, for one random weekend decided by the devs, for players over MR4 (so we don't confuse newbies), we had all weapons deal 100x their base damage? Then we could see the response on the forums as to what players' opinion on being overpowered are and make balancing changes accordingly. Edit: Basically: -For one weekend, give everyone 100x damage on all weapons. -Lock exp gain, new players, and other stuff as necessary. -Collect response from player base during the event. -Collect response from player base after event (to see if they like being overpowered). -Analyze data and plan future balancing changes. Cogrock
Not sure I follow the logic here... How do you make balance changes when everything does 100x normal damage? Even the weakest weapons will insta-kill everything in the game.

mistopportunity
I think he is trying to say why would you have X weapon over Y weapon even at 100x damage and to balance to all accordingly which really wouldnt work... I mean come on. Give 100x damage to pretty much everyone for a weekend? Edited September 22, 2014 by mistopportunity
Farlander
Ugh...this is clearly just another gripe about the OP players. I can't tell if it's jealousy or just resentment that motivates these whiners, but I'm getting really tired of the constant whining about overpowered things. It seems like he just wants the devs to put things in perspective. Perhaps he thinks that if everyone had their weapons made super-overpowered, people wouldn't want things to be overpowered anymore. Think about this, Tehnoobshow. This game has a lot of relatively weak weapons. Braton, lato, the vipers, the list of "junk" weapons goes on for quite some time. If people don't want to be overpowered, then there are plenty of embarrassing excuses for weapons that they can use to ensure that they do not progress in this game in any way whatsoever. If people didn't want to be overpowered, then they wouldn't be. But people DO like having powerful weapons. It's natural to desire more powerful weapons, and more efficient gear. And nothing in this world will change that. Edited September 22, 2014 by Farlander

And the problem isn't with there being powerful weapons, the problem is that there is the most powerful weapon
drft240
Do you mean 100% of the displayed stats with no hidden multipliers? At 100 times damage everything would be OP, a max burst DPS, modded out Boltor Prime has about 48 times it's unmodded damage, if it did double that as base then it would be insane. MK1-Braton would have 14K burst DPS. Just saying that at 100 times, it would not be an experiment it would just be pointless and not fun.
SmokinDevil
Except there is a difference between powerful weapons and OP weapons... When something is OP it limits choices.
Gelkor
If everything did 100x damage for a weekend I'd level up all of my spare weapons very quickly. Average player mastery rank would shoot up by 2-4 levels.
Chaosdreamer
You do realize that any weapon will be one hit ko stuff even the worst dagger in the game....this is not like the ennemy was strong or resisting much
Leland_Gaunt
That idea is weird.
TheGuyver
I tried to even, but I literally can't even at this post. I'm going to go back to being my regular version of OP.

Ailissa
-Lock exp gain, So you want XP gain locked out for entire weekend...... That would be fun for the whole 10 people that log in that weekend.

HolidayPi3
If you're going to do something like this, a weekend won't have any serious effect on anyone's mindset. People won't get tired of being OP over the course of a weekend. The novelty of it would actually stay enjoyable for just a couple of days. Now, make everyone OP for 2-3 weeks and then you'll have a bored playerbase.
